Unlucky for both juliano and jack, juliano had a decent start position and unfortunately couldnt hold it, whilst jack improved up places, whilst using those gravel traps a bit ;-)

Made up to finish 7th :D Well done to Ed on the win

And now that the race has been posted, I'll do the activity check (admittedly I was playing FIFA 11 when the deadline passed, but wtf, right? :D)

Next deadline: 24th July 2011 at 2100 BRITISH TIME.

In racing news...woo, what an improvement. This had better continue or s&%^ is going to get real ;)

22nd to 6th! (H) Great race, both cars in the points from so low on the grid.
Must have got the most places gained point.

We must improve our qualifying pace.
GPGSL Activity Report

The activity check has been completed.

Two drivers have been penalised for their inactivity.

Tommi Karjalainen (Snake Motorsports) (LAST POST: 4th July 2011 - 4.03PM)
Chris Stokel (Snake Motorsports) (LAST POST: 4th July 2011 - 5.57PM)

Both drivers are now on their first warning and will receive a 20 performance point penalty.

Additionally, two drivers have been reprimanded by the activity warden for acting in a manner that is against the spirit of the GPGSL. No penalties will be given to either driver.

Maikel de Boer (Snake Motorsports/Southern Cross Racing)
Jake Legge (Tafuro GP)

Statement from the GPGSL Activity Warden:
"Whilst Jake [Legge] and Maikel (de Boer) were shown to be active [as a reslt of a solitary post] within the period between the 4th and 14th of July [9PM British Time], it has been deemed that their 'activity' was against the spirit of the GPGSL rules - and have thus been reprimanded for this misdemeanour. Posts such as the following:"

Quote
Maikel de Boer
Woohoo! I just passed the next activity check! ;)
Quote
Jake Legge
Just passing the activity check...haha.

"...will be counted once as activity for every driver in the GPGSL. A reprimanded driver cannot use such posts to pass an activity check in future - and any attempts to utilise such a post to pass an activity check will be deemed null and void. Resultantly, a driver will receive a warning."

GPGSL

(I know this isn't strictly in the rules - but anyone telling me a driver should be allowed to be active with posts like the above more than once need their heads checking.)

I don't mean to cause offence or anything but I would like a little more explanation as to what happened to Juliano in the race. He dropped from 6th to 18th without it being seen...then popped back up into 9th in one screenshot and then ended up finishing behind Jack.

My private jet has already taken off, with me onboard, drowning my sorrows on a miserable time in Brazil for this round..... sooner i could get out of there, the better!

What explaination would you like apart from the one I have given you? I have so many things to concentrate on and GP4 doesn't catch every incident in a race. All I can tell you is what I observed and that is Juliano being passed a few times on the straight. I can't keep indiviual notes on all the drivers as the race progresses. He appeared in 9th place when only half the pitstops had been completed and he hadn't stopped, once he had, he would have fallen back again.

EDIT: Having reviewed the screenshots and gone way over my bed time yet again, something must have happened to Juliano when I was taking screenshots of the standings on lap 8.

In the shot of the top 8 cars Juliano appears in 8th place 13.517 seconds behind the leader.

In the shot of the last 6 cars, Juliano appears again in 19th place, still showing as being 13.517 seconds down.

I can only assume that he had an excursion in the sand trap at turn 1.

I am also seriously beginning to think RD is just not worth the time and effort!

Don't worry about it too much, Stu.

To be fair, Chris was just being curious about what happened to Juliano. He wasn't being intimidating or angry about it - just curious. If anything, you could've gone to sleep and checked it tomorrow. :)

All RD's miss some events of the race - and it's no surprise given the quantity of incidents that occur throughout the race. :)

After recent good races this was a poor effort from the team all round. Lets put it behind us and move on.
