been a descent performance sofar at Suzuka! =)
Looking like a pretty solid weekend thus far for the TSS boys. I'm hoping Marko can get a solid result this weekend to ensure his championship challenge remains strong, Ruben can move up the field a little in the race too :)

...Joke.

Stats: 139 Starts / 7 Wins / 9 Poles / 5 Fastest laps
Great from Glen, not so great for Norbert.

Then again, his race pace is better. Interesting to watch.

Jenson drives it like he owns it; Lewis drives it like he stole it
Aston looking good this weekend. Hope one of the guys can bring home the victory!
GPGTV.org Welcomes you all to Suzuka for Round 9 of the GPGSL season.
Weather is expected to turn bad, with the experts rating it a 75% chance of wet weather...

The weather forecast for the race... It WILL be wet, but not too bad!

22 of GPGSL's best are formed up on the grid....

Warrington leads from pole, but team mate Greenhalgh has the inside run to the first turn....

Greenhalgh holds the lead as the field heads through the Esses...

Heading down the long back straight towards 130R, Vilela is taking a look on the inside of Warrington...

Cartwright has run wide at the Casio Triangle chicane....

TSS' driver Marko Aleksander has moved to 3rd, passing pole sitter Warrington...

Charrel Jalving has overshot the braking area into the chicane, and sits and waits as the field cycles through....

As the field ends lap 2, the running order from position 1-8

As the field ends lap 2, the running order from position 9-16

As the field ends lap 2, the running order from position 17-22

Greenhalgh sets the first flying lap of the race....

Meanwhile, Oakley has run wide out of 130R...

This doesn't look good....

The oncoming Norbert Horvath slams into Oakley....

Miraculously, both cars survive, and head to the pits....

Full race standings on lap 3...

Aleksander has his foot down, setting the fastest lap....

The first 9 cars can all be seen on the front straight....

Ruben Greidanus has gone off at Turn 1....

So too has John Maverick....

Maverick can't get the right gear, bogging down in the kitty litter as marshalls arrive to help....

but perseverence from Maverickpays off, and he rejoins the action!

The AMR of Greenhalgh leads, with Vilela and Aleksander close behind as they tackle the hairpin....

Pedersen is on the attack, trying to pass the TNR of Sheppard...

TNR driver Norbert Horvath sets the fastest lap, shortly after pitting after his accident earlier....

Pedersen is still all over the back of Sheppard....

A queue of cars seems to be forming behind the "non boost using" Sheppard

The top 4 within sight of each other....

Pedersen has run Sheppard to the limit, forcing the TNR driver to shortcut the chicane...

And Pedersen is through... but how did he manage to get there??? And why is that green flag waving.... The director goes to the replay....

4th place driver John Warrington has run wide as he exits 130R

5th place Matt Houston has collided with Warrington, with wheels, wings and carbon fibre everywhere....

And then the 6th and 7th placed Sheppard and Pedersen arrive....Sheppard backs off more than Pedersen, allowing the VSM driver to keep a bit more momentum up... a TNR protest perhaps???

Debris all over the track....MPR wheels scattered along the road....

The rest of the field file through the debris...

Greidanus arrives on the scene, flat out, with track marshalls on the track!!!

Once clear of Sheppard, Pedersen is clearing off....

SCR's Cartwright has Worseling and Silvestre in tow behind him...

Kittleson has a gap behind him, where the MAC Racing cars lead a pack of cars....

10 laps into the race, positions 1 through to 8

10 laps into the race, positions 9 through to 16

10 laps into the race, positions 17 through to 22

Greenhalgh has Aleksander close behind....

Signs of the predicted wet weather, with pit stops to begin soon....

Yep, the rain is here. Plenty of water on the front straight....

First to blink, and head to the pits for some wet weather rubber, is Charrel Jalving...

Pit lane begins to come to life, as teams pit....

Hinz appears to be the last man to pit...

Puddles of water on the track, as Pedersen plows on through the water...

TSS's Marko Aleksander in the wet...

But TSS team mate has found trouble!!

After pit stops, on lap 18, the top 8 positions....

Lap 18, positions 9-16

Lap 18, positions 17-22

Positions 6 to 13 on the front straight...

Worseling appears in the mist behind Sheppard, who appears to be struggling in the wet...

Lap 20, and Silvestre is running just behind Worseling....

And now we head off for our one and only commercial break of the race.... don't go changing channels!!!

Welcome back to Suzuka, where the rain has set in....

A full look at the current race placings, with current lap times...

Our race director has spotted an incident in an otherwise calm period in the race.... Karjailanen is off following 130R

Uh oh, this doesn't look good....

Trouble!!!!

Muller has smashed into Karjalainen

Muller has suffered front left damage, and is out....

As is Karjalainen....

Charrel Jalving holds the 12th spot, the final points paying position....

Jack Elleker lurks in the mist behind Silvestre in the TafuroGP ride....

Ben Johnson sees a battle ahead of him...

Nick Worseling powers on through the rain...

Silvestre leads Sheppard and Elleker....

Elleker just waiting for an opportunity to pass....

25 laps down, the 1st to 8th place runners.....

25 laps down, the 9th to 16th place runners.....

25 laps down, the 17th to 22nd place runners.....

Elleker waits his chance to pass Sheppard....

A lap later, he has done so....

With pit stops about to come, Aleksander hasn't given up the fight on getting 1st place off Greenhalgh....

And in the somewhat drying conditions, Aleksander gambles and goes to slicks for the closing stint....

Ross Cartwright stays on the wet tyres....

Race leader Greenhalgh also takes slicks....

Greenhalgh keeps the lead, with his chasers entering the front straight....

After the final pit stops, with half the drivers taking slicks, others sticking with wets, the running orders is as follows....

9th through to 16th....

17th to last....

Cartwright has the grip for now, and moves on past Pedersen....

Hinz, on wet tyres, is closing in on Kittleson and Hunsley, as they struggle with the slick tyres.....

Vilela has the wet tyres on also, and is showing good pace....

Vilela has taken 0.3 out of Greenhalgh's lead...hmmm......The wet tyres may be the correct tyre to be on!!

Cartwright has caught Aleksander easily, as the TSS driver struggles on slicks....

Cartwright uses the slipstream to attempt a pass on Aleksander....

It works, and Cartwrights takes over 3rd spot...

The lead keeps shrinking, as Greenhalgh has Vilela closing in....

Ben Johnson is right behind Aleksander, in 9th spot - WHAT? Aleksander is in 8th? How did he get there.....

Replays show that Aleksander ran wide, and too fast into Turn 1, shooting off into the gravel....No grip on those slicks for the TSS machine...

Aleksander re-joins the track with no damage....

Elleker launches an attack on Worseling....

Into the final chicane, Elleker is still trying to pass Worseling....Which he did pull off the move....

Pedersen is under pressure from Silvestre....

Like many on the slicks, Pedersen is struggling....

Another one on the slicks, Sheppard is seeing the orange MAC Racing machines filling his mirrors....

Meanwhile, up front, Vilela has caught Greenhalgh....

On lap 35 though, the track appears to be drying up a little....

Positions 9-16....

Positions 17-22...

Vilela is closing in for the kill!!

Vilela will have to see through a wall of water though, to get by the AMR driver for the lead....

Jack Hunsley, on slicks, is closing up on the battle for 10th...

The dry line is starting to show on track. This could be the end of the wet tyres for those on them!!

With 3 laps to go, the dry line is very evident now....

Hunsley still holds the final point position, but a bunch of contenders are hot on his tail....

The drying track seems to have allowed Greenhalgh and his slick tyres, to move away from Vilela....

Norbert Horvath is pressing for that final point position...

Sheppard on the slicks is surely going to hold on for 10th, whilst Hinz on the wets may suffer!

The race leader is comfortably at the front....

Greenhalgh places his AMR in the dry line....

Whilst Vilela searches for some damp track, to keep his tyres alive for the run home....

Cartwright is also searching for some wet road....

Elleker now has Worseling right on his tail....

The pressure is ON from Worseling....

Hinz is holding onto 11th place, while Sheppard has scooted away in the distance....

Greenhalgh exits the final turn...

And it is Ed Greenhalgh taking the win....

Vilela takes 2nd place...

Cartwright comes home in 3rd...

4th goes to Silvestre....

5th to Pedersen...

Elleker hangs on to 6th, and Worseling takes 7th....

Johnson comes home in 8th...

Aleksander finished 9th...

Sheppard in 10th...

Hinz held onto the 11th spot....

And Horvath grabbed the 12th place, and final point on the last lap....

Replays showed Horvath got by Hunsley along the back straight, heading into 130R....

John Maverick was the last over the finish line in Japan....

Norbert Horvath, in the TNR BMW got the fastest lap, early in the race before the rain came....

Well done Gigi!:-)

Philip has been unlucky,he could finish clearly in points...

My GPGSL Career
Superb! What an exciting race! Kudos to the AMR mechanics for an excellent strategy call!

Thanks for the great coverage as well!

Knowing I didn't have any boost on offer, I always knew Suzuka could be tough this weekend. The performance this weekend wasn't too bad, and at least getting some points helps. My race pace was a bit of a disappointment, but.... with changeable weather, it was a lottery. To get 10th place in that lottery, is okay.

(Putting Race Director's hat on : Watching this race unfold, the second round of pitstops was interesting. From the best of my observations, the following drivers took the wet tyres : Vilela, Oakley, Cartwright, Silvestre and Hinz.... All the others took the slicks... So, the closing 10-15 laps were a total lottery!! Great to watch!!)

GPGSL Team Owner Debut - Melbourne, Season 8 - present
GPGSL Test Debut - Hungary, Season 4. GPGSL Race Debut - Adelaide, Season 5.
I always seem to make up for my poor qualifying in the race, very pleased with that, shame about Juliano's accident, but these things happen

Great coverage of an action packed race. Nice work Ross in the wet, the tyre strategy paid off and we have a podium finish. :-)
