GPGSL Season 6 Complete!

Posted by GPGSL
It was a great return to form in Qualifying today.
The car was set up nicely, less than a tenth to pole.
As has been said, there is very little between the whole field and to get on the second row is great.
Plus I'm on the clean side of the track, the dirty side is very dirty and hopefully we can capitalize on this tomorrow.

Charrel did a solid job, proving that he is more than worthy of the seat. It's great working with him, hopefully he can get further up the field quickly come race day!!

GPGSL WDC Season 4
Can't wait to see it, I'll be in the pits supporting my team, as I was in the last two races.

How close was FP and qualy. Could be an epic race!
Again, for the people that are waiting for the race/are bored: have a look at the GrandPrixGames SuperLeague Wiki!
It's more fun if people make their team/drivers profile there.. It doesnt cost a lot of time!

GPGSL Canadian grand Prix - Montreal

Race Day - Part One

Here we are again at Montreal. The track has had all the groundhogs, woodchucks and marmots scraped up off the tarmac and peeled off the cars tyres!

The cars are lined up with Norbert Horváth on pole ready for the RD to press the green go button.

Horváth converts his pole into an early lead as Oakley slips back behind Houston.

1st Horváth, 2nd Houston, 3rd Oakley, 4th Maverick, 5th Karjalainen.

The field make their way round the hairpin for the first time.

Houston takes a look at taking the lead.

Houston takes the fastest lap and dives inside Horváth.

And takes the lead!

Meanwhile Greenhalgh tags Karjalainen.

Karjalainen loses a handful of places whilst Greenhalgh rejoins last.

Cartwright locks up into the hairpin.

Houston with another fastest lap.

Hinz takes Silvestre at the chicane.

Silvestre takes to the air over the high kerbs.

Smashes into the Wall of Champions.

Silvestre reverses from the wall

Then heads towards the pitlane, but there's a wall in the way!

After hitting the wall several times, he has now lost his nosecone as well.

He tries again and loses a wheel this time.

Houston lowers the fastest time again as Silvestre retires from the race.

Maverick chasing Oakley.

Jalving attempts to take Karjalainen.

Oh no not another airbourne car!

Everything is fine as he bounces off the wall without damage. Lucky!

Oakley locking up.

Five laps in the books, lets look at the standings.

Oakley has now pulled a bit of gap out from Maverick.

Warrington locks up, looks like it could be a long and fruitless afternoon for Aston Martin Racing.

A queue building up behind the former champ.

Its getting busy at the back.

Warrington locks up yet again.

Rain starting to fall.

Hinz locks up in the greasy conditions.

The rain seems to have stopped.

10 laps done.

Greenhalgh really struggling since his spin.

We'll take a break there, be back soon.

good 5th place for now
about Silvestre missing the pitlane, once in my race a car was missing pitlane entry like that it and constantly hitting the wall for three laps (others cars lapping him and avoding) before he finally lost a wheel and retired

not. good. what on earth happened to me? pace seems to be ok and there are still a lot of laps to go, so i still hope for a good result.

used to be GPGSL's Nick Heidfeld
Juliano is doing well so far. Jack seems dogged by bad luck at the moment. Hopefully Juliano can hold on and get some points.

I'm not doing too well :(
I think I have a small mechanical issue with my car costing me time [/badracingdriverexcuse]

Going great!!! Houston takes the lead.. Very nice!!
I have shown I can have a good start, and I had a nice overtaking move!

With the rain starting, lets hope the team can plan a nice strategy like last race! My aim is the top 5 for this race..

Race Day - Part Two

The rain returns.

Hinz glances the wall.

Team Shadow having a quiet but effective race as the rain stops again.

Guess what? The rain is back again!

30 lap to go and the first round of pitstops begin.

Its looking closer between Maverick, Aleksander and Greidanus.

The rain seems to be here to stay now.

Kittleson has a trip onto the grass.

The leader pits.

Hinz and Cartwright touch as the SCR exits the pitlane.

Hinz restarts in 21st.

Greidanus has leap-frogged Aleksander.

25 laps left to go and all the pitstops have been made.

The rain is getting much worse.

Cartwright going for a pass on Greenhalgh.

He gets the position.

Snakes in formation too.

Elleker pits early, must be due to the rain.

20 laps to go and Houston pits too.

Greidanus having took Maverick now tries to pass Oakley.

He gives up and they all file into the pits too.

Aleksander decides to wait for the 2nd pit window.

Houston now on extreme wets.

Jalving takes Worseling.

Greidanus takes Johnson, the extreme wets are paying off.

Aleksander decides its time to change. Is it late enough to stick to a 2 stop strategy?

19 laps to go.

Maverick now close to Oakley.

Houston with quite a gap to Horváth.

Hinz in the wars again, this time its Horváth.

Horváth now down to 6th.

15 to go.

Johnson takes Sheppard.

Greidanus tries to take Oakley again.

Decides better of it.

Maverick runs wide.

But collects it all up and stays 2nd.

Stay tuned for further coverage.

Houston has a comfortable lead! Lets bring this car home..

Im stil in 8th, the best I might be able to finish now is 7th.. So lets try that!
Then it is our 3rd podium in a row, our 2nd first place in a row.. And our 3rd double points finish in a row!

I think we can be proud then..

Race Day - Part Three

Oakley under pressure.

Maverick pushes on.

Warrington in for a 3rd stop.

Greidanus finally past Oakley and the cameras missed it!

And then pits with 11 laps to go.

Oakley too.

Aleksander now up to 3rd. The majority of the field has now took to a 3 stop strategy Marko we believe is sticking to 2.

This could be nasty!

No, they both survive.

10 laps to the chequered flag.

Aleksander still stays out.

Houston still leads.

Warrington goes for the last points paying place.

Oakley looks to be in trouble.

He's out due to a loose wheel, but he's stopping on the racing line on the back straight!

Cartwright smacks into the back of him!

Jalving passes Kittleson whilst the latter is leaving the pits.

They touch.

Kittleson manages to get away in 9th.

Jalving isn't so lucky.

Maverick loses concentration.

5 to go.

Looks like Aleksander's and Horváth's 2 stops are going to pay off.

Kittleson has another slight off.

The 3 stoppers are lapping much quicker than the 2 stoppers. Maverick catching Horváth.

Maverick goes for 3rd.

And tips Horváth into a spin.

Greidanus now close to Maverick.

Aleksander really struggling on his old tyres.

Last lap!

Nearly lapping his team mate.

Houston wins the Canadian Grand Prix!

Who's 2nd? Aleksander, but Maverick is going for a last gasp overtaking move.

Takes it!

Maverick 2nd.

Aleksander 3rd.

Greidanus 4th.

Muller 5th.

Congratulations to Matt Houston and MPR, winners of the Canadian Grand Prix.

Stay tuned for the official results.

Thats a really great result! Well done to both juliano and jack for getting the car into the points, stunning performace!

More to come from the Mirko Vukcevic camp, but the press conference will not be held straight away to give the race performers a chance to get their comments in ;-)
