F1 ManagerThe 2005 signings thread can be found
hereBasic IdeaThis series (originally established by Chris 2k6) gives 11 lucky players the chance to guide a Formula One team to success, whether it be Ferrari or Minardi. The game started in the 2003 season and has already developed greatly thanks to the choices each manager has made. Also real life events will come in to play, such as Red Bull wanting to take over Jaguar etc but, that doesn’t guarantee you success. Managers will also have to negotiate contracts with drivers and engine suppliers along with making many other decisions along the way.
TeamsAt the start teams were randomly assigned between the applicants. Here is the current entry list:

ADrIaN1996When a team becomes available the first manage on the list will be offered the job, if he rejects the offer the next person on the list will be offered the job. If more than one team is available the first person on the list can choose which team to sign for. When a manager inherits a team they must aware that they will also inherit any drivers or team takeovers (such as Red Bulls takeover at Jaguar) as well as the team’s current budget.

Final Championship StandingsTeams can attend any of the mid season test sessions (Jerez, Barcelona, Silverstone or Magny Cours) at a cost of £250k per test coming from last year’s budget. Feedback from these sessions will vary and managers can choose to focus on either reliability or pace.
Race WeekendRace weekends will start with a friday practice. Here both of your drivers tack to the track and to act as getting a good set-up, your drivers will reward your team and themselves with a small increase for quali and the race. The way this will work is by working out the time difference between your two drivers with the first three teams recieving a 5 bhp boost, and 30 driver performance boost whilst 4th to 6th will recieve a 3 bhp boost, and a 15 driver performance boost. Free Practice and qualifying will be a one hour session whilst the race will be 100% race distance.
ContractsTeam managers are free to perform contract negotiations in order to sign drivers for the next season. A random selection of drivers will become available for contract negotiations at regular points throughout the season. Once drivers become available for negotiations teams are free to pm me (
Twigster151) their offers and after two races I will announce which managers have successfully signed which drivers. If a driver receives no contract offers then they will remain open for offers. Engine, tyres and brake manufacturer offers can be made at anytime during the season. Teams must also be aware that they need AT LEAST two race drivers and one test driver for the season. Also if a team wishes to retain a driver for the next season they must still follow the negotiation process. Also once drivers have signed a contract for the next season other managers it may still be possible to tempt them away. This can be done by putting forward an improved offer directly to the their team manager and if he chooses to accept it, the driver will switch teams.
Setup RewardA setup bonus is available every race weekend during Friday free practice. The closer you test driver is to your best driver the better the reward. The top 3 teams get a 30 driver performance bonus and a 5 bhp boost. Places 4th to 6th get 15 driver performance bonus and 3 bhp boost but it is only for that race weekend. The perfs then return to default ready for the next friday practice session. In order for a team to qualify for the setup reward at least one of their two drivers must post a time.
