Alpha Racing Team Season 6 Announcement

After the Monaco Grand Prix there was press conference in the Monte Carlo Casino where there was an announcement about what ART is going to do in the GPGSL Season 6. ART will keep using Ford engines and will keep racing on Bridgestone tyres. The line-up is going to change. Both current racedrivers are leaving ART. Charrel Jalving is moving to another team and Alexandre Koemmerer is retiring from racing. We want to thank both for their effort.

Koemmerer: "I had good times with ART, especially by being both driver and designer. I'd like to thank Stefan for his support and the confidence he had in me."

Jalving added the following: "I want to thank Stefan for giving me a chance to drive for ART in season 5! This was my best season ever, I learned a lot and we got some good results with ART. The reason that I wont be driving for ART is because I was offered a contract at another team. I have learned a lot from Koemmerer this Season, we were competitive against eachother but I want to wish him lots of luck in the future.

I scored a 2nd place for ART wich was the best result for the team, and we are currently 5th in the constructors championship. I want to say thanks to the team and I hope they will have some promising results in Season 6.

Best of luck for John and Rodrigo next season! I will see them on track for sure ;) I cant say yet at what team, more about that will be announced soon!"

Jalving allready spilled the beans there; John Maverick and Rodrigo Vilela will be racing for ART in season 6! This means that the line-up for season 6 will be as following:

1. John Maverick
2. Rodrigo Vilela
TD1. Stefan van Renselaar
TD2. Position Vacant

Maverick made the following statement: "I am very glad to be a part of ART from S6 onwards. I have high aims with this team, as I think we'll be very competitive!"

Vilela: "My first year as race driver was very good, including a podium in the first stage, in Australia. Now, I have the chance to increase my performance, running for a top team, that has a good history in GPGSL. I'm not afraid of internal fighting, because I prize the respect for a teammate. The target needs to be, always: increasing along with the team, not alone. I want to thank Paolo (Tafuro, owner of TGP) which gave me the chance to debut and be signed by ART. I want to thank Stefan (Van Renselaar) for the chance given for S6, to run in his team. Commitment will be the main target, I promise!"

Team owner Stefan van Renselaar was the last person to take the microphone: "Season 5 has been a good season so far, I want to thank Alexandre and Charrel for that. With John and Rodrigo we are confident that we can have a good Season 6. I'll also be a test driver for the whole season, so that'll be a new challenge for me. I might be replaced if we find two other test drivers, but that is unlikely. Drivers who are interested can submit their résumé to me."

Aston Martin Racing Press Release.

After ART's announcement that John Maverick will be joining their race team in season 6, Aston Martin have announced that team boss Stuart Ingers will be continuing his test duties with the team. "As John Maverick has kept us appraised throughout his contract talks, I have known for a good while now that John Maverick would be leaving us. We wanted to hold off announcing anything until ART had made their press release. We would like to thank John for his work with us here at AMR and his previous work with Velox".

Aston Martin Driver Line-up for S6:

R1. Ed Greenhalgh
R2. John Warrington
T1. Adam Davies
T2. Stuart Ingers

5 x WCC - S5, S6, S7, S8, S10 | 4 x WDC - S5 Nick van der Voort ; S6, S7, S8 Ed Greenhalgh | 2 x WTC - S6 Stuart Ingers; S8 Andrei Sevastian

John Maverick Press Release

"I am proud to confirm my transfer to ART for S6. I had to decline some very promising offers and feel honored that so many people were interested in me. However, in the end when things finalized, it was Stefan who gave me this big chance to drive for his team. I hope that we will be able to bother the Big 4 [teams] next season and I am sure that we will have some very good results."
"But I also want to use this chance to thank Stuart Ingers and Nick van der Voort for all what they have done for me. Nick especially for taking me at Velox last season. And Stu for creating a car that made me being able to finish in the points in every race before going to VSM. I felt very comfortable in this team and who knows...maybe I'll come back one day.
Thirdly I also want to thank Rico van Smirren for the chance to gain some race experience with VSM already. This will definitely help me to improve further and I'm looking forward to fight against his guys next season...hopefully with the better end for ART then" :-)
"But for now, I'll concentrate on finishing in the points for VSM in the remaining two races and after that I'll enjoy 2 weeks of relaxing holidays before I'm going to meet my new team."

It's nice to be teamed up with John again! Hopefully we can get another 1-2 in the championship like we did when we were paired in Season 2.
