Hi! I'd like to know if there's a tutoril to make 3D Arms in GP4... like the 1991 MOD. The 2D Arms is too much odd.
I've searched for the entire forum and I haven't found anything about it... I just would like to know.. :D

Thanks!

WoW! I've been searching on the web and in the 1991 MOD thats the 3D Arms is attached to the helmet (or on the car shape in others mods)...
And few people developed it further because the arms have almost "any movements"...

It can sound very crazy.... but, is it impossible to create a RIM MODEL for the car with the arms on the same file ("LINKED TO THE RIM" but on the coordinates of the Cockpit) because there it would be able to steer??

geez.. at least you said..it sounds crazy..

its ´´ impossible´´ to do that based in your idea... if so.. shape builders would creat wheel covers which turns left n right with the wheel.

but let me tell you. if i 1991 mod has a 3d arm.. why dont you get it and ´´ merge´´ with your helmet and use the same TWEAK present on 91 mod to move it with helmet?

sounds easier than 1st idea uh?

cheers

the 2004 mods knocking about are probably more up to date if you wanted to use their arms.

Thanks... I've understant that is impossible indeed to it with the rim.... I'll try to merge it... ;)
Thanks again! :D

I just insert 3d arms (with helmet shape) in a CSM mod that I made, as the 3d ones in 1991 and 2004 mods.

BUT the helmet movements are strange! Arms and steering wheels move up and down....

I search in those mods, the tweakers to fix it, but I can't fix (I test various tweaks).

Someone can tell me how to tweak the helmet and specially the steering wheel to move only left-right and NOT move up and down?

Thanks!

I have the same problem as Kerley. I've made 3d arms for 2011, but the movement is just too weird...

it is in the tweaker under head move (or something similar), it needs enabling of course in the gp4tweaker.ini

Yes, I change the "headviewmove.ini" in my tests from:

VALUE07 = 1.0000 ; helmet moving: X-axis sensitivity (pitch), -10.0 to 10.0 (0=freeze, 1=default sensitivity)
VALUE08 = 1.0000 ; helmet moving: Y-axis sensitivity (turn), -10.0 to 10.0 (0=freeze, 1=default sensitivity)
VALUE09 = 1.0000 ; helmet moving: Z-axis sensitivity (tilt), -10.0 to 10.0 (0=freeze, 1=default sensitivity)

To:

VALUE07 = 0.0000 ; helmet moving: X-axis sensitivity (pitch), -10.0 to 10.0 (0=freeze, 1=default sensitivity)
VALUE08 = 0.0000 ; helmet moving: Y-axis sensitivity (turn), -10.0 to 10.0 (0=freeze, 1=default sensitivity)
VALUE09 = 1.5000 ; helmet moving: Z-axis sensitivity (tilt), -10.0 to 10.0 (0=freeze, 1=default sensitivity)

But the steelring wheels continue to "shake" like it dancing "twist and shout", hahahaha. :-)

Could you try it in your mods Kev? maybe I'm doing something wrong.

this is from the 2005 megapatch

[HEAD_VIEW_MOVEMENT]
VALUE01 = -5.0000 ; view movement: X-axis angle limit (pitch), in degree
VALUE02 = 45.0000 ; view movement: Y-axis angle limit (turn), in degree
VALUE03 = 10.0000 ; view movement: Z-axis angle limit (tilt), in degree
VALUE04 = 12.2070 ; view movement: X-axis sensitivity (pitch), in percent
VALUE05 = 12.2070 ; view movement: Y-axis sensitivity (turn), in percent
VALUE06 = 12.2070 ; view movement: Z-axis sensitivity (tilt), in percent

Maybe it's the axis of the Helmet + arms which is not well placed. That could explain the weird movement of the steering wheel. Do you have screenshots of the movement of your steering wheel?

I'm updating some mods and I use the same shape helmets with 3d arms from 1991 season. So I think the positions maybe are right.

I think I just need some tweak to fix the problem...

Here some screenshots (not fixed texture...yet, but this is not important now):

Very nice ank6n.

But they move like 1991 and 2004?

That's my problem: the st. wheels turns up and down... the center is not fixed like in 1991 and 2004.

What you did to fix it?

By the way, very nice st. wheels.

I thing Mitsuro Sano is right. It seems to be placement of axis that's messing it up.
I wonder how or would it work if you create two scenes inside gp4 file, one for helmet and one for steering wheel?

@ kerleyf1:
yes, they look good ingame movement like 1991 and 2004!

this is my headviewmove.ini:

[HEAD_VIEW_MOVEMENT]
VALUE01 = 0.0000 ; view movement: X-axis angle limit (pitch), in degree
VALUE02 = 0.0000 ; view movement: Y-axis angle limit (turn), in degree
VALUE03 = 0.0000 ; view movement: Z-axis angle limit (tilt), in degree
VALUE04 = 0.0000 ; view movement: X-axis sensitivity (pitch), in percent
VALUE05 = 0.0000 ; view movement: Y-axis sensitivity (turn), in percent
VALUE06 = 0.0000 ; view movement: Z-axis sensitivity (tilt), in percent
VALUE07 = 0.0000 ; helmet moving: X-axis sensitivity (pitch), -10.0 to 10.0 (0=freeze, 1=default sensitivity)
VALUE08 = 0.0000 ; helmet moving: Y-axis sensitivity (turn), -10.0 to 10.0 (0=freeze, 1=default sensitivity)
VALUE09 = 2.0000 ; helmet moving: Z-axis sensitivity (tilt), -10.0 to 10.0 (0=freeze, 1=default sensitivity)

Obviously you have to set in gp4tweak.ini:
HeadViewMove = 1 ; set to 1 to enable head view movement tweak
HelmetMoving = 1 ; set to 1 to enable helmet moving sensitivity tweak

I've tried these settings, but the steering keeps moving up and down...very weird.. :-(

@ ooleeeo:
in 2010 external 3d arms gloves & wheels.7z file you find:
GP4Form.txt
headviewmove.ini
car_helmet_00.gp4 shape+3d arms
car_helmet_01.gp4
car_helmet_02.gp4
car_helmet_03.gp4
2010 ext wheels.7z unzip and you have all the textures!!

@ jucksman:
be sure in gp4tweak.ini you have set file headviewmove.ini in the right folder, like this:
[TWEAK_DATA_FILE]

HeadViewMove = gp4tweak_data\headviewmove.ini
or
HeadViewMove = gp4tweaker_data\headviewmove.ini
depending on gp4twaker version you run!
