Guys, where can you find videotutorial converting cars from rFactor to Grand Prix 4? I found the mod of 1989, would like it to convert, but the knowledge is not enough.

@Timtoffee: sorry, mate! It seems that all the pictures uploaded on Imageshack some years ago have been deleted since the website is not free anymore. I had worked on a video tutorial. Unfortunately, I lost my files... I will try to make something before to leave the community but I can't promise....

@Canadian76: Sorry, I won't make a public tutorial about this...

@Foreverk: Thanks a lot for the PDF version of my tutorial. It will be posted on the 1st page. Hopefully, you saved it before the images were removed. I appreciate your initiative! ;-)

@Timtofee: In order to see the textures into 3D Browser, you have to put them into your folder with the 3d model in tga format (if you convert them from .tex into .tga, don't forget to flip them)
Then, into 3D browser: shift+T to display the textures.
Anyway, what is important is to keep the UV Textures, as the box is ticked into your 3D browser window. So, don't worry if you don't see them. The UV coordinates will be saved and you will see the textures correctly once the lower lods will be re-imported into Zmodeler.... I know that this 3D browser version is a bit different from the 2008 one. I will try to modify my tutorial with new pictures... I will make it simplier.

Ok guys here's what happens step by step for me...
zmodeler to 3ds

opening in 3d photo browser

after pressing shift+t to view textures

in polygon cruncher

saving file

imported in zmodeler after saving

materials in zmodeler after importing

changing materials on LOD 1

1-Select the first texture name in the list , tick Primary texture and click on «Load Map» button .
2- Click on the «Add» button and select the tga file corresponding to the file's name.
3- In «Type» tab, select «unused» for each texture. and click on Apply changes, then OK.
Your textures will appear correctly ;-)

If you still want to do lower lods and if I read well your previous posts, you just didn't use "GP4 renamer" before the conversion from .gp4 to .3ds
and after to have created your lower lods with 3d photo browser and converted back to .gp4.
Be aware that the names of the objects MUST be the same than the objects before conversion and in the right order.
If only one name is wrong, the game will crash.
To get the right order, the easiest way is to use GP4 builder which has a function doing that very well :-)
