[WIP] Old Österreichring by brambilla & Turbo Lover

+1. Looks very good, and I suppose since you did that, it's not too hard to release 2 versions: one quick, one stupidly quick! :)

Everyone knows that million-to-one chances happen 9 times out of 10; indeed, it's a common requirement in fairy tales. If the human didn't have to overcome huge odds, what would be the point? Terry Pratchett - The Science Of Discworld

Overall i will only make one track, the '76 version, after that is finished i make the '79 version where i only have to rebuild the first turn section of the track with some graphical tweaks here and there. :)

Speaking about the '76 version, download here the first beta version of it:

Enjoy!

Nice building.

I've just tried that beta and I love the track, now it only needs land. :)

Other two issues:

- it has no kerbs anywhere, is this correct?
- I was under the impression that the Osterreichring runoff areas used to be huge (and bumpy - altho i'm not sure if this can be done in GP4), or were they only extended in the 1980s? Are you still going to make adjustments to the runoff areas or is it going to stay like this?

It has kerbs, but they look not like today kerbs.

At some parts of the real Österreichring the run-off areas are somewhat endlessly, cos there where no guardrails at all. In GP4 there must be guardrails all along the track, that's why.

Those parts of the real Österreichring the run-off areas where also steeply banked, instead flat with my version. It could be done in GP4, but the physics in GP4 does weird things with cc cars at steeply banked areas so i leave it flat.

Sometimes you must make compromises.

Any trackside textures (grandstands etc.) in the plans?

Creating land around the track is next on the to-do-list, anyway, controltower is finished:

Turbo Lover, good job!!!
Please see if that's OK with the CC-lines in the second curve.
It may be a matter of hit, I'm using.
The car tends to leave much of front, if not a little more braking is certainly wall, but loses too long for competitors.
