New Track Texture Animations [WIP]

Here's a quick preview of some animations I'm working on






Eventually all countries will be added and released as a texture pack.






Scrolling Adverts, this transition is limited but pretty effective. and a small logo for new Singapore track I made in After Effects.
TV screen is Hamilton Massa incident at Singapore 2011. I plan to have 4 unique TV screens for the track, but very labor intensive






This is rough and jerky, but a smooth loop is no problem, it's just the workflow is intense for trees ;)





I redid the loop, this one is much better.

enjoy, and throw up suggestions of what you think can be added / animated for the tracks (I'm already looking at animated pitbabes) ;)

Very original ideas! The animated flags are very realistic. I presume you use the atx_flag textures?

Yes, atx_flag & tvanim textures.

Added a smoother tree loop to the first post, I'm much happier with this one.

Yes, I was already considering these, as well as new crowd animations.
Possibly using aXYZ rigged models and adapting the textures would be the easiest way.

I'm not sure of the impact on the game, whether it's the number of animations playing, or the number of actual atx_flag sequences in use.
I'll need to consult the resident guru ;-)

In the graphics.cfg file of gp4 there is a line to enable animated crowds. Although I have enabled it there was no difference ingame.

I just put 1200 trees lining both sides of a track, and it had no impact on PO at all.
Maybe it's not the number of animations playing, but rather the number of animation sequences being processed, currently all animations are mapped onto one single atx_flag.

I think the one on the right is moving too much, I need to be subtle when there's only 10 frames to play with.
Thanks to a tip from schroeder there's an extra 4 frames available.
Just a test as I refine the workflow.
