Thrustmaster ferrari steeringwheel

hello guys,

i bought a new steering wheel for gp4.
but i have a problem
gp4 doesn't recognize my shifting panels
i upgraded my driver but it doesn't fix it.
how do i fix it?

I´ve got the same wheel as you. All I had to do was change them in the control settings menu. You can select from there which buttons do what. Have you done that? or are the not recognised at all? If you want i´ll send you my config file for GP4.

i have the same wheel too and shifting panels are working perfectly with old and new drivers...so I don't know what's wrong with your.

Well, no, I havn't tips as my wheel has always worked with the game since the first day.
Just be sure to set a custom device in GP4 input options, instead of using the default steering wheel preset.

Guys I've been loaned a one of these, it's the same as airefresco 's



I've been trying to set this up for hours and cannot get my accelerate and brake axis to split.
When i try to set the brake to the IRZ axis the Y axis moves (Same as accelerator)
I've tried with "Operate Pedals Separately" checked in the control panel, but still it still refuses to work.
Does anyone still use this wheel, and can they recommend a working driver ?

You mean wheel / not used /user set slot as in this advice ? [www.racesimulations.com]

Everything's fine until i get to the brake section it sticks on the Y axis for both pedals.

Without looking at the link I'll say yes. Don't use the existing wheel slot, create a new user set. It may work, no guarantee ok.

Hmm, this is what I'm looking at, when i press the accelerate pedal to the floor



and this when i press the brake.



You can see all that's moving is the Y axis.

In the Game controller setup I have the standard 3 axis, X for steering , Y for Accel pedal and Z for brake Pedal.

All the axis look and react fine in the setup, but in GP4 setup screen the Z axis doesn't move/react at all.

I'm trying some older drivers now

Still no luck on this, the problem seems to be the accelerator and braking are stuck on the same axis
Nothing I've tried will get the game to recognize the Z axis.
I know I'm not the only one with this problem, hopefully someone has a fix for this.

Try setting up the wheel as a joystick, using the same axis for brake and accell.

Already tried that, you still accelerate and brake at the same time.
I'm sick off this now, I tried all drivers in existence with no luck, i thought editing the axis in the setup .inf might work.
I edited these lines and managed to affect the Y axis in game, but it was unuseable.
Maybe someone with the skills can suggest a way to influence this so the game functions correctly. It's beyond my abilities.
I'm tired of looking at this damn game and the frustrations it brings, I may find a more user friendly game to develop.
As a last resort here's the setup .inf, maybe someone with the skills can suggest a solution.

I also have a thrustmaster steering wheel, a different one then you do, but you could try to move the accelerate pedal to IRZ or the brake pedal to IRZ

Do you mean in the setup of the inf file i posted above ?

The only axis that moves in the setup are X and Y. the game does not recognize the Z axis at all.
In windows Game Controllers / Properties, the calibration shows the throttle on the Z axis and the brake on the Y.
I'm beginning to think it's a direct X issue maybe, I'm not sure if it's possible to use an older version of the dxinput.dll. But it would make sense for a game that is so old to use the oldest dx version.
either dxinput.dll or something in the inf file, like I said It's beyond my ability to figure it out, I'd need some pointers.
Anyway, I'm having fun in rfactor, I'm tired of this game.

I've managed to get it working as a joystick, but it doesn't seem to respond right. I'm comparing it to the feel I get in GP Legends and Nascar 2003 and in comparison it's like driving in mud.
I guess there's no way it's going to work properly with GP4.
