That's good news if you have a week off, we're patient as always.
2006 United States Grand Prix

Lights out and away we go

Webber leads into turn 1

A night mare start for Hamilton, who drops to 6th

He's now behind Button and Coulthard

Karthikeyan is up to 11th

End of lap 1 and Hamilton eyes up Coulthard in 5th

And gets the job done

Here's a look at the top 8

Fisichella runs into the back of Coulthard

And spins the Williams

That demotes him to the back as his torrid season continues

Hamilton has a run on Button

And passes his fellow Brit for 4th

Problems for Da Matta?

He collided with Massa! Both drop down the order

Massa's teammate Adrian Sutil looks to pass Sato

And does into turn 1

Schumacher flies past Coulthard

The Scot just didn't have the horsepower to defend the place

Sutil is now looking for a way past Karthikeyan

But the Super Aguri is defending well

Still trying a lap later

It all ends in tears on lap 10 though as Karthikeyan is punted off!

He drops to 14th

Montoya is the latest driver to pass Coulthard

Too easy that

The Red Bull driver undoes all his hard work 2 laps later though

He drops to 10th

Webber is starting to open up a gap out front

Massa has a look down the inside of Karthikeyan

Never a doubt

Trulli on Raikkonen?

The Italian is through for 8th

Here's the top 8 after 20

Is that a Ferrari having problems?

It is! A water leak ends Michael Schumacher's race

Montoya looks to pass Raikkonen

And is through easily

Problems for Heidfeld

He's out with a throttle problem

Alonso pits but can he come out ahead of Button's Toyota

Only just!!

A look at the current top 8

Button is now up into 3rd after the stops

Massa looks to pass his teammate

Job done

Glock's got what looks to be an engine issue

He's spinning on the oil!

But he's rejoined in Karthikeyan's path

He's out, Karthikeyan will pit

Alonso is really reeling in Webber!

As his teammate looks to pass Hamilton

Jarno is through

4 laps later it's Raikkonen's turn

Is Hamilton also suffering with technical problems?

The gap at the front is now less than a second

Here's the top 8

Webber pits from the lead

Montoya is close to Hamilton

Hamilton defends as he looks to pass

And keeps the place

Hamilton is being blocked by a Toro Rosso!

And Montoya is through! Ferrari will be fuming with what could have been team orders there

Alonso pits, has he done enough?

He has! Alonso passes Webber for what will be 1st

Not good for his teamamte though, he's out

Transmission failure for Trulli

Button is right on the back of Webber

The top 8

Looks like Alonso could be hitting traffic! Will this give Webber a chance?

Or will Button pass Webber?

Grosjean has held Webber up so Alonso can race off into the distance

The gap is now over 3 seconds

Alonso wins the United States Grand Prix, he's right back in the title mix now

Webber is 2nd

And Button makes it 2 Toyota's on the podium

2006 United States Grand Prix Race Result

Drivers Championship

Constructors Championship

LETS GO!! Absolute masterclass of a drive from Fernando, and the strategy was also excellent. Shame about Jarno, the failure gifted SHamilton and Ferrari an extra position and we lost some ground to Toyota in the WCC.

Fine driving from Massa despite falling down the order. Not impressed with Sutil, but that contact with Karthikeyan was just a racing incident.
Once again a solid display by the number 1 drivers, Juan Pablo and David truly done it right. Is there a possibility to exchange the number 2 drivers with the test drivers? It's absolutely ludicrous that all the teams points come from David and JP.

If you are racing, keep on racing and get some points!

Yes that can be done :)
BMW Sauber

Great day, but not the result we've wanted. Heidfeld's problems have yet again gone to him, and it looks like it has a throttle problem which is a shame for him. Also for Ralf he did a outstanding job to take 4th place and hold on as a championship leader. It won't be easy for him as there are Toyota's to be a threat of Ralf so we need to improve pretty much quickly in next races.

Super Aguri

Shame, we were right there to score our first points. Karthikeyan made a mistake on his own and that really ruins him an opportunity to score point and yeah it wasn't enough. For Speed 13th place is good and awesome, shows our car is improving a little bit and hopefully if that stays same we can even fight for points in some remaining races.
Toyota

A fantastic race for us. Obviously we would have liked to win it but a 2-3 is just as good.

Mid Season Test

With the exception of Twigster, who has a full inbox, you should all have received PMs in regards to the upcoming mid season test. If you could all reply with your choice as soon as possible please I'd be grateful :) Thanks

Activity Check Results

Afternoon all. I've just completed a long overdue activity check and can confirm the results.

For each race weekend where a manager has been present they have received a point.

Toyota - 10/10
BMW - 10/10
Ferrari - 10/10
Renault - 10/10
Toro Rosso - 10/10
Honda - 10/10
Williams - 7/10
Red Bull -10/10
Mclaren - 0/10
Super Aguri - 10/10
Midland - 6/10

As you can see, we are not having much luck with Mclaren managers!! However, only 3 times did not hit 10/10 so for that I want to thank each and everyone of you for continuing to be active and support the series.

Mid Season Testing Plans

With the test due to happen in 4 races time (3 of which have been run), I still need testing plans of a number of managers. So far I have plans for four out of the eleven teams.

2006 French Grand Prix - Free Practice

BMW Sauber

Seems a really great day for us, with our guys both in top 6 it shows that our car looks to be improving. Hopefully we can manage a great result here and fight for a podium. Nick 4th and Pedro 6th, we might be in a mix for a challenging weekend.

Super Aguri

Pretty satisfying day, with Montagny 15th and Karthikeyan 19th we're pretty much satisfied with the result. Qualifying will be tough for us and we may see some other teams turning up their engines and it will be difficult to reach those same positions.
Toyota

Another great session for Mark. He really is proving to be a hell of a signing for us and hopefully he can continue his push for the drivers title. Jacques was a bit disappointing this afternoon, we expect better from him.

Honda
Nothing to say.

BMW Sauber

It's a pole for Ralf! Another outstanding performance for the German to start on the front at French GP. Difference to Nick is 3 tenths, but he's hoping for a good revenge for some points. Also the Top 3 are close to Ralf's pole position, which means we're possibly ready for what it will be exciting French GP.

Super Aguri

18th and 20th looks to be ok to us as we're improving little bit in terms of the pace. Race will be tough for us because some other cars will be faster and we probably need to keep improving and close on the midfield.
2006 French Grand Prix

Here we go, 70 laps of the French Grand Prix, Ralf Schumacher on pole.

Away we go

Ralf Schumacher retains the lead off the line

Massa is challenging Webber and Fisichella is looking to pass Michael Schumacher

Lewis Hamilton runs into the back of Fisichella

And the chain reaction forces Mark Webber wide

The Aussie rejoins in 5th

Here's a look at the top 8

Glock locks up

Webber is forced to defend from fellow Brit Lewis Hamilton

His teammate Button is also under pressure, Trulli is right behind him

Someone's in the gravel, it's Heidfeld

Looks like he ran wide

He rejoins the race in last

Does Hamilton have a problem? He's dropping down the field

He does! He's got a problem with his brakes

Da Matta runs very wide!

Ralf Schumacher still leads

Trulli is very close to the back of Button!

Da Matta looks like he's got a problem

A transmission problem ends his race

Someone help the poor fella!!

Hang on! Is that car off the ground?

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's Da Matta's car!!

This has to be seen to be believed Flying Car

Massa is the first of the frontmen to pit

The race leader pits on lap 22

He's come out ahead of Massa

Trulli is still looking to pass Button

He's run into the back of him!

I guess that's one way to get passed

Alonso has also passed Button. John Warrington won't be happy.

Looks like Michael Schumacher has leapfrogged his brother in the pits!!

And Ralf has Massa for company

Speed spins the Super Aguri

And is out the race

Massa is having a look at passing Ralf

Down the inside into the hairpin

And he's through

Trulli is off

He's now down in 13th

Robert Doornbos retires with an engine failure

Karthikeyan is a play in the gravel trap

Kimi Raikkonen likes the look of that and does the same

However Kimi also smashes into the tyre barrier

The Mclaren driver is out of the race

Race leader Michael Schumacher is off! I repeat, Schumacher is off!

He's out of the race!

Here's a look at the top 8 after that

Fisichella is right behind Ralf Schumacher

8 laps later and Fisi is still behind

He dives into the pits

Hamilton is all over the back of Glock

Glock is holding firm for now

Fisichella is approaching the back of Alonso

But Alonso then runs wide

Schumacher finally pits on lap 55

He's out in 2nd, ahead of Fisichella

Webber is out of the pits and he's leapfrogged Fisichella

Here's the top 8

Glock runs wide

He's out of the race

Webber is closing in on Schumacher

As is Alonso on Fisichella

Karthikeyan has held up Webber so it looks like 2nd for Ralf Schumacher

Felipe Massa wins the French Grand Prix! His maiden F1 win!
