I have recently purchased a laptop with a GeForce 940m so i can get the best out of this game on a laptop. However, the game only recognises the Intel HD Graphics 5500 card which is a much lower performance. I've browsed some of the other forum responses and seen some solutions such as changing the settings in the Nvidia control panel and looking at the 'cards' file in the Grand Prix 4 folder it says (Intel(R) HD Graphics 5500]). Are there any other auggestions?
Charlie, I have the exact same issue only I have an AMD Radeon R5 M335 4G. I have also edited the AMD Catalyst software as well. Grand Prix 4 is still showing the Intel graphics card in the menu. The game runs perfect, PO under 40% in the rain. Hopefully someone can suggest a solution.
Beside desinstalling/deleting all GP4 remaining files and reinstalling GP4, you could also try to delete (keep a copy) the f1graphics.cfg file (and all f1graphics with any extension like .old or .bak if any). This way GP4 might do a new check of available hardware at next launch.
It's just a guess as I can't test it actually.

OK, thanks for the suggestion Lo2K, i have tried this without success though. It seems like this is a fairly common problem though so if anyone else has a suggestion, I would be very grateful.
Right-click on your Desktop -> Nvidida Control Panel -> 3D Settings -> Manage 3D Settings -> Program Settings -> choose your "gp4.exe" and select high performance Nvidia processor
