GPGSL S10 R11: Brazilian Wax Grand Prix - Interlagos [Perfs posted][Seat Vacancy]

That one came rather surprisingly :-o

Sure happy about it, but still a long way to go.

@Greg: which position did Aidan classify? Looking at the last screen it shows him in 7th shortly before crossing the line, with only 1 car in close distance. If the result screen gives any other than 7th or 8th for him the results have to be altered imo.

The results at the end show Aidan Keranen in 21st and 1 lap down. Not sure why the game does that when a driver has to pit on the final lap.

We've seen this many times at RaceDepartment. For some reason the start/finish line doesn't extend into the pit lane and in doing so the cars dodge the line. Something like that anyway.

Not sure either. In FFG on RD I recall a similar situation with a driver having a problem (one that normally triggers a pit call) in the final lap, however he just went on to cross the line.

Do you have a replay that shows whether he crossed the line before or after Nell?

Results definitley should be altered @John, Maikel

Would this be close enough?

I would say before Nell on this one, and yes I'll alter the standings to reflect this!

Also, I would very much like to see a classification now that the race has been posted ... no clue where the Snakes finished exactly! Would just be our luck to have had Gilson beat us to it ...

As close as it can get ;)

But I think he (Aidan) finished 7th by milliseconds.

@Greg: just post the results screen with the gpgtv/your own account. Imo it's not necessary to have it posted by the gpgsl account each time.

before Neil here also, totally not because he took me out or anything..
Neil had momentum and Aidan didn't, and they crossed the bit just after the line simultaniously

these pitcalls are so weird. Sometimes they pit on the final lap like that, sometimes they move on.
Were all the cars set to do one stop in the md?
If yes, my only guess would be that he pitted for a different set of tyres, lke intermediates, I saw it rain in a few pictures.

Wow! 4th fastest lap and finishing in 18th! What a shame I couldn't actually use that pace better as I clearly had some!
Double boost and only 15th fastest lap time, yet I won. I don't have to understand that, do I?

Again, whatever pace I had to get myself up to 13th disappears and I get shoved down to the back.

Seriously, this is getting ridiculous - pretty sure that's the third or fourth time it's happened to me this season.

Huh??? Who is Neil??
Regardless, this decision of Nell v Keranen is tough, in terms of who gets the higher position. Could be deemed that Keranen took a shortcut by going via pit lane, even with the speed limiter. Despite my obvious bias, unless there is a definitive screen shot showing the two cars in position prior/after the finish line, surely the position goes to the man ON the race track....
But, i will hold anymore judgement pending the official decision on that one..
Two cars in the top 8 isnt too horrible, given the dramas of the race....

Another point!

I seriously thought this was gonna be bad, considering the early pace.

Sooo sooo pissed! What an alliance against AMR. First Jack's undeserved loss of pole, then the consecutive race out for him and now my mistake that cost me both the race win and the WDC leadership. You'll probably find me at the MPR garage, somewhere under a table, with a bunch of Martini bottles around me.

Builds up title winning team with years of effort. Gets @#$%& by the game and the frankly ridiculous boost system. Yeah, unless there are some serious discussions over the future direction of the series I think we're done here.

Races: 163 - Wins: 23 - Pole Positions: 24 - Fastest Laps: 22
Season 9: Constructors' Champions
And before anyone says it, I fully appreciate the effort put into the series.

I'm just understandably frustrated to see years of success wiped out by flimsy rules.

Races: 163 - Wins: 23 - Pole Positions: 24 - Fastest Laps: 22
Season 9: Constructors' Champions
what was it like before?
Maybe a balance between the two systems will make it less random?

Well we got well and truly shafted :/ Good effort though guys, hopefully next time the rest stay out of our way ;)

Also, seeing as we're all chucking in our two cents really, I think the main problem with the current boost system is that whilst a +5 or +7 BHP boost may look big on paper, in practice the impact these boosts have is very negligible. At least that's generally what we've found in the series over on RaceDepartment.
