Really nice work on the sound of the Formula E car. ;-)

I think the power problem can be solved by editing the torque curve to match actual values. Let's say we'd simulate the whole thing at 10,000 RPM and of course the curve has to be as linear as possible. I'll try something later today just for fun

Oh Yes Mat go ahead and let me know :-)

@all, the conversion is grossly done and I am playing with the shape and the psd with my own theme :-)
Arnaud is doing a huge job for the tyres, and should deliver soon a beta version.
RSCT should open a new thread as soon as there is something to show ;)

ok, so today I had a go at simulating Formula E physics and I think I'm not that far off.

1- I deeply changed the torque values with Torque Editor :

2- Based on this :

3- I changed the physics file to something more representative of the Renault-Spark, so I adapted weight, width, wheelbase, etc. to match what I found and figured out. I left the power value quite high though (840 hp) so the power is affected only by torque. Based on the aforementioned picture, I set the rev figure to 12,000 RPM.

4- I made a basic performance file using 800 hp for all cars and around 14,000 performance. Only Car 1 of Team 00 has "final" values.

5- And then goes the basic car setup, so I made a 5 gear setup that, along with a rear wing set to 1, a 230 kph top speed just over 12,000 RPM in 5th gear at Monza. Formula E cars are actually limited to 225 kph, so maybe we should get more work done on the downforce/drag data.

So yeh, here is the package, it contains the following :
GP4.exe
Torque.ini
Performance.txt
Physics.g3p
Setup.cso
Source.jpg
Torque.jpg

(Not the actual file names but you get the idea ;) )

Best used with my 2014 F1 sounds for now ;)

Great job on the physics and steering wheel, Mathieu! (Y)
Thanks also to Pesebrero for the internal engine sound. I really like it! :-)

We will post news when possible.

It would be great if someone would like to work on a Formula E HUD. ;-)

Bernard, just to answer your PM. I can't actually give you those images. They are for media use only. But, give me a shout if you need any help identifying any logos.

Here we go, a video showing the work I've done so far on physics, performance, steering wheel and sounds :

I decided to make my own sounds as I just couldn't make good use of Pesebrero's files, although they seem very good. If anybody can make any change to make his files playable with lower RPM physics (default engine.txt is so messy to my eyes lol), then let's use his files, he was first :)

Great sounds for F.E. you had made Briere... (Y)(Y)

I like that you can hear the transmission sound, sounds to me like the real stuff. I would be happy to receive a copy of your sound files (.wavs) for my GP3 Formula E Mod if possible :>

Thanks for the feedback so far guys :) I even tweeted Team Amlin Aguri with the video asking them if they think I should change gears/physics. They actually liked the in-game steering wheel picture, so they will probably give me an answer soon :) Can you imagine if we got feedback from an actual Formula E team !? Now that would be awesome ! :)
