f1graphics.cfg question in CSM Mods

I am stumped & wonder if someone can help me out with this one... :-)

I know most CSM mods look at the existing f1graphics.cfg in the GP4 root directory
I also know some Mods like FSone's 2009 mod includes their own cfg files in various resolutions

But I like my .cfg I use in FSone's 2009 mod & have also copied it to my GP4 directory where other
mods can also run it.

While the resolution is correct I know it is not the same.
Some of the obvious signs like def panel ( with same settings etc ) is larger
Also things like the track loading bar is also larger

How can I figure this out so they all use the same .cfg file?

Thanks for any tips

Nobody knows? :-)

I am really stumped & have tried a few things like adding resolution to global vars etc
but no luck.

Here are some basic pictures to give you an idea.
But basically I want the resolution shown in the FS2009 shots & do not know why
I cannot get them in the GP4Central 2014 mod or any other for that matter

I am sure I am using teh same f1graphics.cfg for all since although FSone looks in its own cfg folder I have that same cfg
in my root directory where GP4central looks...I think? Tom if you read this...Your mods use the f1graphics.cfg in the GP4 root folder yes?

I do seem to have the 1680x1050 resolution but for what ever reason lack the pin sharp clarity I get in FSones 2009 mod
Also look at these pics of obvious things like track loading bar...same track same track set being used in both mods

Or the DEF panel size & setting again same settings used in both

It just looks like I am not getting that same resolution which I like from the FSone2009 mod

Here are the GP42014 shots

And the FSone 2009 shots of the same things

Loadingscreen progress bar -> Data\Loadingscreens\bar.bmp

Defpanel size -> Data\GpxPatch\pnl, somewhere in there is the panel.ini (name might be a different one) which configures the defpanel.

Thanks Kedy but it does not seem to be that
I am using the same track for both & it is something to do with resolution
I used those two pics as an example
But both are using the same track
Also it is other things within race too. The 2009 is just sharper yet I think using same cfg file so how can that be
The defpanel.ini it ends up a mess like this which again tells me they are using different resolutions
Yet the def panel for both is set the same

This is what it looks like if you copy the defpanel.ini from 2009 into Toms 2014

fonts.ini probably, the one used for the panel has different settings in Tom's 2014 mod than in the 2009 mod. Second line in the defpanel.ini shows which font is used. Compare those two in the fonts.inis and you'll notice differences. If you copy the fonts.ini though, you might end up screwing up other things. Best thing would be to rename the font in the defpanel.ini (e.g. from manana to manana2), then only copy the one which the defpanel.ini uses (in this example manana) from the '09 fonts.ini to the '14 fonts.ini, and rename it to manana2. Hope you get what I mean.

Thanks Kedy I will play with that a bit
But I think it is more...meaning the def panel & the load screen were just some obvious examples
but it just seems to me I am running a different resolution although screen size looks right
ratios are all different in views etc.

Just curious & will play with it more.
Thanks

If you're talking about the angles of the onboard cameras, that's just due to different tweaker settings. If you really had a different resolution, you would notice immediately, as things would look blurred.

No I know the cameras are tweaker specific
It is just the overall is less sharp

Just really curious why this is.
Will try some process of elimination ;-)

The screenshots look pretty much identical. The 2009 steering wheel is probably sharper. Is it the cars themselves that are less sharp?

Actually It was more the surroundings...which is why I thought cfg
because I am using the same trackset

But today I seem to be equal now & think I may have messed up something
in my attempts to find out .......hahah

No problem it is fine I was just curious

The GP4 Central CSM mods do make a couple of adjustments to the f1graphics.cfg file, to these lines:

0			; [RELEASE] Number of multisamples if available (0-16 :: 0 => off, 1 unused)
1 ; Full 32bit textures

You can change this behaviour in Settings\CSM.ini if you want.

It also adjusts the resolution using whatever you set in the Mod's Configurables section of the CSM menu.
