twinring motegi track problem

Hi guys, i'm playing an Indycar season but on the Twinringmotegi track, AI cars don't go over 180 mph and their gearbox is blocked on 4th gear. I don't understand why, because in the magic data, AI wings angle are very low and the gerabox staging is set for oval high speeds.

Somebody has a solution ?

Have you checked the "Power factor" entries in the Magic Data? Maybe they are too low.

I think, the magic data is allright. It might be the same problem as we have at Hockenheim 1967, where we cannot control the AI's straight speed correctly. But maybe both problems have different causes nevertheless.

Interesting. Maybe this problem is important for the high speed problem....

check the gearing in magic data, I bet the gearing is too long (i.e. if you're getting to over 100 mph in just 1st gear then the gear ratio's are too long).

compare them with the gearing for Monza or old hockenheim

Do you think that's it's possible somehow with special settings in the magic data to reach a top speed of more than 400 kph as well for the human player car?

It works fine for me, cars going at 215mph in 7th gear. How did you install the track?

What's the problem with the old hockenheim? I just tried it with a 2012 mod and it seemed fine as well?

In Old Hockenheim you cannot drive with 7 gears (only the AI cars can) without loosing about 50 kph on top speed! :( :-( hot (N)

That's the big problem there, and the AI cars can have much more top speed as a human player can have anyway! ;-( (N)

Seems fine to me, I'm doing 215mph here, same as Hamilton in front of me:

Can you test Monza 1971 as well please? The top speed problem is much worse there.

Looks like the problem with Monza 1971 is that it has no Magic Data in the dat.

No, the problem is that you are using much lower car performances as I do. You top speed in Old Hockenheim/Monza is only 215 mph (about 345 kph), but mine is 360 kph and the AI cars have 370 kph or even more. hot We still don't know how to fix this problem. :(

Can you PM me your mod or just the perf / physics files? I'll take a look.

Add more rear wing to the AI setup. (I)

@TomMK: I don't use a mod, I just use a self-made performance file with GPxPatch. The driver's power is about 16000, and the car power between around 1050. The problem even gets worse when testing more higher performances. The AI cars can get a top speed up to 484 kph (slipstream: 492 kph) (car power around 10000, I can't remeber the exact number), but the human player can only achieve a top speed of 362 kph (366 kph in slipstream) at a car power of 1200 and the highest top speed I ever got was 371 kph (373 kph in slipstream) with a car power of 105117 or something like that, with 105118 and more the cars were already crashing backwards into the wall shortly after the start. ;) I already talked to SDI about this problem but he said it's located on the GP4.exe and it will be very difficult up to impossible to fix this problem. :(

@jcaranti: Well, then the AI cars are slower, but faster in corners I think? And it doesn't make my car faster, does it?

What about changing these lines in the magic data:

500 ; ?? cc power factor ace
514 ; ?? cc grip factor ace
500 ; ?? cc power factor pro
498 ; ?? cc grip factor pro
490 ; ?? cc power factor semi-pro
486 ; ?? cc grip factor semi-pro
473 ; ?? cc power factor amateur
477 ; ?? cc grip factor amateur
455 ; ?? cc power factor rookie
465 ; ?? cc grip factor rookie

How can I get the magic data file of a track? With TSM? I already tried that some time ago, I can change the numbers, then click save and export the file, but the changes were never there! hot:(
