Hi Everyone,

Ive downloaded a few tracks who's fuel consumption is too high.

I searched on this forum to find a way to rectify this, and have done so using Cmagic.

However it doesn't seemed to have made any difference.

Below is the section i edited, i basically reduced the numbers by half, to what they
are below now.

Is there something else that affects the fuel consumption?

8595; fuel consumption 1
6741; fuel consumption 2

Cheers,

Slasher

Hi there,
As far as I know, there are three lines that deal with fuel; The two you've got there, and another one:

5148 ; fuel???

(You're number is most likely different.)

Of the two numbers you posted, I believe the smaller to be the AI's fuel consumption rate (it's over a lap I think) with the larger number being the Human Player's.

The 'fuel???' is - again, I believe - how many fuel 'units' make up a one lap of fuel.

So, if you make the 'fuel???' number bigger, that should appear to lower the fuel consumption by virtue of having more fuel to begin with.

Of course, I suggest taking everything I've said with a grain of salt.

Hope that helps,
Doug.

The fuel and AI fuel consumption wroks connected together. . The first fuel data can works as "weight of the fuel" parameter. If you want to simulate the seasons 2010-2014 or before 1993 you should set the first parameter to 200 and the AI fuel consumption to 300-350. After that the speed of the AI cars only depends on their tyres as nowadays.
If you want to simulate the seasons 1994-2009 (as the original GP4) you simply leave the fuel parameter to default, and set the AI fuel consumption or the human fuel comsumption a bit lower

Hi,

thanks for the responses.

There is something im doing wrong here.

Ive adjusted the following fuel figures down;

8595; fuel consumption 1
6741; fuel consumption 2

and the single fuel figure upwards.

It didnt change anything.

Ive then adjusted them in both directions, ive tried numerous combinations but no matter what,
it hasnt made an iota of difference.

Is it the process i am using?

In CMagic i open the SCT05 track data file in "GP4 Track file", then open the adjusted data file
in "Magic data file", then hit "Insert Data".

By the way, its the Road America circuit im trying to adjust.

Im using GPxPatch v3.93 (GP4 v1.02).

Thanks,

Slasher

Upgrade to v4 of GPxPatch and try again with the same files.
