where can I download the latest 4.30a patch?
I follow the link on the news page, but only see the last version, no 4.30a.

Will this new patch allow me to have different tyre compounds on show for the pirelli tyres? Any instructions on how to do this would be great.

Thank you

I have the same problem as you when using a CSM mod.

René, could you have a look at this issue? :)

Just tried it with the '96 mod, selecting Spa (Round 13) in the CSM menu, loading all tracks in the profile. I started the race at Spa, and the tyres looked fine [i.imgur.com]. I left the race, selected Hungary in the ingame menu, started the race, tyres still looked fine [i.imgur.com]. I chose green wheels on purpose for Ferrari in Hungary, to see whether the perf file is changed for the race.

So I can't confirm this issue.

If not too much trouble would you post up your tyre related entries from your performance file?

Also in the 96 mod does the tyre folder have 2 sub folders ( Sidewalls & Treads ) like the 2002 mod
or 3 sub folders ( Rims, Sidewalls & Treads ) like the 2014 mod?

Thanks for any info I have had mixed results myself

Tyre folder has 2 subfolders for 2D and 3D, so you can basically say it has none, as wheel & tread textures are in the same folder. Tyre part of the perf file looks like this

@Ruben: did you use the '96 mod I've sent you or the released one when you had this issue? It might be related to the swap.ini, as my version swaps all perf files, while yours only swaps the one of the selected track.

You're right; when the performance files of all tracks are swapped to the gpxdata folder the wheel and tyre textures are fine when you choose an other track slot in the GP4 menu than the one you selected in the CSM menu, but in the case that only the performance file of the track you selected in the CSM menu is being swapped to the the gpxdata folder and you choose an other track slot in the GP4 menu, the wheel and tyre textures of the original game are visible and some cars have white treads.

Hey Rene,

yesterday a new idea came into mind: It would be great, if you could disable the pit-speed-limiter for every session, like GP4 does in free practice-session so far. With this feature the player would have to manage the pit speed himself or use a kind of manual limiter. This would make driving more realistic, I think.

Of course it would be even better, if the player would get a drive-through-penalty for exceeding the speed limit, but for me it is not a mandatory feature ;-).

Kind regards
Klaus Feldmann

Yes, that would be great! :-) Racing with over 300 kph through the pit lane in Spa 2001! ;)

Very nice, SDI (Y)!

@ TGF1DRIVER:
Yes, the old Spa-pitlane is really a special case ;-). Until Bus stop was rebuild in 2005, under SafetyCar it was faster to drive through the pitlane without stopping at the mechanics, than following the safetyCar ;).

I tried adding two more tread sub indexes as explained by you here: [www.grandprixgames.org]

supersoft = tread_0
soft = tread_1
medium = tread_2
hard = tread_3
intermediate = tread_4
wet = tread_5

Tyres texture names are pirelli_tread_<T>_right_<V>

However I ended up with white tyres for tread_4 and tread_5. This is the part of the perf file

[TyreTextureNames]
Name #00=pirelli
Name #01=oz
Name #02=enkei
Name #03=advanti

[TreadTextures]
Type #00=0
Type #01=2
Type #02=4
Type #03=4
Type #04=4
Type #05=5
Team #00=0
Team #01=0
Team #02=0
Team #03=0
Team #04=0
Team #05=0
Team #06=0
Team #07=0
Team #08=0
Team #09=0
Team #10=0

[WheelTextures]
Team #00=1
Team #01=3
Team #02=1
Team #03=1
Team #04=2
Team #05=1
Team #06=2
Team #07=2
Team #08=1
Team #09=2
Team #10=1

Hmm, yes, indeed. Thanks for testing :) So for 4.30a it's still limited to 4. I'll support 6 tread types for 4.31.

(Y)

Now I just have to figure out if it's possible that the AI use soft and hard compounds in a race. Currently they either are all on softs or all on hards, depending on the tyre type value in the md.

Looking at the code, it's always soft or hard for all.
