Pirelli Tyres 2014-2016 - Excalibur - Update[RELEASED]

Posted by Excalibur
It is very strange to me. It looks like if the performance file was not loaded correctly or like if the tyre shapes were not the good ones... or textures missing...

And, "unfortunately", it seems that you are the only one who got this problem....

I will continue by MP...

A few weeks ago I had the same problem. I did not recognize what happened but I remember I was editing the perf.file
Luckily I have a backup.
I will try to help too. Sure you're not using points (3.3) instead of commas (3,3)?

Update: New Pirelli Ultrasoft tyres 2016

New link first post!

Unedited screenshots:

If you have ever used the Pirelli tyres 2014, just put the ultrasoft textures into your wad (tyres folder) and edit your performance file as following:

[TyreTextureNames]
Name #00=ultrasoft
Name #01=supersoft
Name #02=soft
Name #03=medium
Name #04=hard
Name #05=advanti
Name #06=apptech
Name #07=bbs
Name #08=enkei
Name #09=motegi
Name #10=oz1
Name #11=oz2
Name #12=rays

[TreadTextures] (To edit yourself)
Team #00=
Team #01=
Team #02=
Team #03=
Team #04=
Team #05=
Team #06=
Team #07=
Team #08=
Team #09=
Team #10=

[WheelTextures] (To edit yourself)
Team #00=
Team #01=
Team #02=
Team #03=
Team #04=
Team #05=
Team #06=
Team #07=
Team #08=
Team #09=
Team #10=

As an example to use the ultrasoft textures:

[TreadTextures]
Team #00=0,1 (For team1, car1 will use ultrasoft, the second car will use supersoft)
Team #01=2,0 (For team2, car1 will use soft, car 2 will use ultrasoft)
Team #02=0 (for team3, both cars will use ultrasoft tyres)
etc.....

Intermediate, wet and monsoon textures are included into the ultrasoft tyres (tread1, tread2, tread3), as for the others tyres (supersoft, soft, medium and hard) so that into your garage or during a pitstop, you will be able to choose the right tyres for the weather conditions, as with the original game. You don't have to add something into your performance file or to modify the files.

Installation: Just put all the lods into your wad and the textures into the tyres folder of your wad. Edit the performance file (Gpxpatch 4.30 or above is needed)

More infos into the readme file...

Have fun ;-)

Great, it's not 2016 yet but we already have all the tyre compounds ready to go for inclusion in mods.
I don't know if it will be the definitive version but Pirelli will test these ultrasoft to the Abu Dhabi GP!

great work mate! Thank you! :)

Ice Hockey is my Religion!
I've noticed a slight problem that comes up occasionally when using the Ultrasoft tyre.

In this shot, you can see that the rims have turned a shade of pink.
This doesn't happen all the time, and the colour varies between rims, but it only ever happens (at least that I've seen) with the Ultrasoft tyre.

Here is my F1Graphics.cfg, perhaps it is something in there?

Thank you very much for the tyres!

Good evening gentlemen, I am struggling to get these tyre textures to work. i have added the tex and model files to the correct folders and have edited the performance file. When I load the game I have white tyre textures. Could someone check my performance file to see if I am editing the file correctly.

Hi Gap!

Looking at your Performance file, you are only using medium and hard:
[TyreTextureNames]
Name #03=medium
Name #04=hard

[TreadTextures]
Team #00=3,4
Team #01=3
etc...

Otherwise, your performance file seems to be edited correctly....

But your problem is white textures, ok. Please, recheck all this:

1-Into your wad, cars/cars/ tyres folder, be sure you have only the textures files, as released into the archive ( not renamed):

2- Into the cars/cars folder from your wad, be sure to have the car_wheel_x_lod_x.gp4 and car_wheel_front_cockpit.gp4 installed correctly:

3- Be sure to use at least the GPxPatch 4.30 version or above (very important) and that your performance file is loaded into gpxset tab:

To go further:
4- check also into your main Grand Prix 4 folder/ GpxData/gpxset.ini file that your performance file is correctly loaded:

If you are using a mod, please check into the mod files

Good morning Excalibur, thank you for the quick reply.

1- Textures installed correctly. (I resized the textures-reduced by half.)
2- Tyre models installed correctly.
3- Using the correct version of GpxPatch (4.43) and performance file loaded.
4- Checked gpxset.ini and it is configured correctly.

Tried running the game and I still have white tyres.

Are there any changes required to the graphics file?

Thanks for your help.

I am also having the white tire problem, I did everything is recquired. Very strange, when I had the white tire problem with the other set I disabled the bump map in graphics, but in this instance that does not work.
