I'd like to have the Pirelli logo used there [en.wikipedia.org] in the section "Teams and drivers". Is it possible then to choose between that logo and your black Pirelli logo?

Yes, you can always create your own. I might replace the black one with red on yellow, but I'm not sure yet.

I just checked out footage from 1998 and there I see both Bridgestone and Goodyear having a white letter on top of a black background :) (http://youtu.be/ABXkz8h2ock?t=1h23m59s)

René while we're on the subject of tyres - is it possible for a player to be told which tyres the opposition have chosen? One scenario that is really annoying is when you have a wet race and the AI all choose the right tyre (e.g intermediate) but the player car gets full wets and so is at a disadvantage. Thanks so much for the latest round of improvements :) (Y)

One other question - does this mean we can use a different texture for the soft dry and hard dry tyres?

Yes, each compound can have its own tread texture.

As for seeing the opposition's compound, I think that it's a secret. But you can simply cycle through the cameras and look at their treads :)

René, is it possible that the newest version of GPxPatch also supports extra sidewalls and treads like the original game? An example; in 1981 and 1982 there were 4 tyre manufactures in F1: Good Year, Michelin, Pirelli and Avon. I was thinking about this idea:

For GY sidewalls:

wheel_bridgestone_0
wheel_bridgestone_1
wheel_bridgestone_2

For McLaren sidewalls:

wheel_mclaren_0
wheel_mclaren_1
wheel_mclaren_2

For Michelin sidewalls:

wheel_michelin_0
wheel_michelin_1
wheel_michelin_2

For Pirelli sidewalls:

wheel_pirelli_0
wheel_pirelli_1
wheel_pirelli_2

For Avon sidewalls:

wheel_avon_0
wheel_avon_1
wheel_avon_2

The same method goes for the tread textures.

Another example; In 1996 there was just 1 tyre manufacture in F1, Good Year, but there were several different rim brands; BBS (gold with red/black or white with blue/green), Speedline, Fondmetal, Enkei (white & blue), OZ racing etc. It would be a dream that most of these rims can be supported without to remap the wheels and tread like the Pirelli tyres for 2014.

Thanks in advance.

SDI already made this possible, the version of GPxPatch (4.25 BETA) which can deal with that is only WIP, but GPxPatch 4.30 will be released soon as far as I know. ;)

these will all be possible :) we have succesfully tested in game with several different tyres and you can for example use all types of pirelli tyres in game at the same time, or michelins, goodyears, bridgestones etc :) you can also use different tyres, rims and tread textures for every team and car so that team mates can use different type of tyres :)

Since you mentioned Avon, I will add a black one for it in GPxSAT:

You should be ok from 1978 onwards then.

As far as i know, there have been 9 tyre manufacturers in F1 history :
Manufacturer [first season - last season]
Avon [1954 - 1981]
Bridgestone [1976 - 2010]
Continental [1954 - 1958]
Dunlop [1950 - 1977]
Englebert [1950 - 1958]
Firestone [1950 - 1974]
Goodyear [1964 - 1988]
Michelin [1977 - 2006]
Pirelli [1950 - 2014...]
Since we have mods from 1955 to now, shouldn't there be logos for all of them?

Ok, in that case I probably need to support upto 6 manufacturers. I just don't know which colors to use. Maybe these?:

Continental: black on orange
Dunlop: black on yellow
Englebert: white on blue (was never used together with Michelin)
Firestone: white on red (was never used together with Bridgestone)
