SDI dont do what TomMK asks about the wheel off track.

If You do that would change everything in hotlaps.de Gp4 competition
because their would be many hotlaps in the past that would be out of the rules
and future drivers would not have the same conditions for the tracks as past drivers.

Hotlaps.de Gp4 has been a permanent online hotlap competition since 2003.

So please dont do this.

TomMK asks you this because a few hours ago i showed he has 4 wheels outside the white lines.

He want you to change this so he would be withing the rules of his own league with the hotlap he submited.

I have been 5 years web admin of hotlaps.de gp4 and gp4 addon.

Jorge I am asking that kerbs are NOT part of the track. Please take a deep breath and read my request again.

Of course, removing the kerbs as part of the track would have huge consequences for the whole game. Jorge is right. But this change would not necessaryly be mandatory for everyone. Maybe SDI can make it as an option ;-). But nevertheless, I don't think that it would be even possible. The needed change of the game code might be too deep.

No it wouldn't. I'm only talking about HOFxLap validation of a saved game / replay. It would only affect people who use HOFxLap (such as league organisers).

It could be an additional key such as gpxlap_stat_offtrack_no_kerbs.

Yes, it would. You want to change the surface behaviours of tracks.
That has huge consecuences.
Let me know when you have a mininum knowledge about track editing.

Tom means the track behaviour as read by HOfxLap. The kerbs wouldn't behave like gravel/grass. They would still behave like kerbs, but be considered as an off-track part by HOfxLap. From what I understand anyway, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong

Math, its not possible. it reads track surface behaviour.

Lets say if it was possible by a miracle that would make every hotlap in the past to be Not Valid in any competition.
Why i say this? all leagues if they see 4W in hofxlap automatically its not valid the lap.

What Tom doesnt know that all Gp4 leagues used Lap Checkers or Race controlers to check visually inside the game
hotlaps and races. Hofxlap is not the problem. The problem is the Gp4 code.
Every league knew about this problem.

@TomMK: Curbs are a synthetical extension of the track and have always been a part of the track and will ever be I think. ;) I think in real F1 they should remove the rule that four wheels mustn't be off the track. Cutting corners is something different of course. (Y)

First of all, let me assure you that I won't change anything in GPxPatch or HOFxLap that will affect existing leagues, rules, hotlaps/saved games, or the game itself.

Second, it is possible to implement the request. It would simply be an additional key, as TomMK already suggests. The old key will work the same as always.

It would require additional code in both GPxLap and HOFxLap.

No, it will not. It wil still require visual checking by a lap checker.
You never know if a driver hits a barrier or any other thing in hotlap or in race.

Sorry to say but its clear that you dont have experience checking files of drivers in leagues.
I have 5 years of experience on that as ex web admin of hotlaps.de Gp4 and Gp4. ;-)

Does it mean such code would be put in GpxPatch anytime soon or as you said, you will not change anything in the patch?

It will be put in GPxPatch soon. But just 4 wheels off-track and off-kerbs at least once, per lap.

Yes please René (Y). I just need this to equate to "off-track".
