That would make a lot of things easier. A few weeks ago, I decompiled the executable file to the assembler source code and was hardly hit by it's sheer endless length. So, you own my biggest respect for being able to alter anything in GP4 at all (Y).

As I said, it would be very nice to have a realistic astro-turf-behaviour in-game, but don't stress yourself too much with it ;-).

Actually, I do know where it determines and stores the surface type for each wheel. But it's hard to change the behavior.

Something I've meant to ask about for a while: dual failures showing in the cockpit dashboard.

For example in this screenshot, Vettel is retiring with an engine failure, while Grosjean is pitting with a loose wheel. Both failures are showing on Grosjean's dash and it looks messy. Is there some way to fix that using GPxPatch please René?

I must have hit a wrong button on my keyboard, so, how can I disable all those automatically generated TV overlays?

Test the buttons 1 to 10 (not in the Num-block). I just don't know exactly which button is for which display.

If you don't want GPxSAT, turn it off completely in the main GPxPatch tab. Otherwise:

[*] K: toggle all overlays except track map
    [*] 8: toggle track map off/on/auto
[*] E: toggle left tower standings
[*] F: toggle bottom tower standings
[*] 1: toggle on-screen info with help about the keys

Thanks to all (Y). I really have to learn all those keys being in use nowadays ;-).

René, would it be possible to use the "laps allowed" value in GPxSet to simulate modern qualifying? GPxPatch could determine 3 points during the session (e.g. at 1/3 time, 2/3 time and then obviously the end of the session). At 1/3 and 2/3 of the total time elapsed, GPxPatch could set the number of laps remaining for all cars on track to, say, 2, as they cross the line, which would allow them to complete one more lap and then return to the pits.

Once every car is back in the pits (I think GPxPatch can detect this as well) the top 16 (after Q1) or 10 (after Q2) runners would have their laps remaining reset to the original total, so they could leave the pits again.

What do you think?

to TomMK:

I think that gp2 was the last game in which ai cars did more than 1 hotlap in qualifying, from gp3 and gp4,they do only 1 hotlap in qualifying before returning to the pits.

Hi!
One question: in the director mode, when will show the speed difference, I can not see to the end, the characters disappear before the show, I can only see the next my speed and the speed of the fastest driver around that point.

@TomMK: I think that is possible.

@cleberpister: is this in classic mode? Last time I looked at the speedtraps it seemed bugged, but I didn't look into it further because nobody complained about it.

Here's a saved game with the "double failure" thing. [www.dropbox.com]

Maldonado retired with a transmission problem. Then a lap later, Bianchi got a loose wheel. But his dash displayed both transmission problem and loose wheel.

Hey Rene. Thanks for all your work over the years.

A request for you. Would it be possible to replace the Race / Session Over message to show the Race/Session results using GPxSAT?

I was working on it but never finished it. There was some information in there that wasn't readily available.

René would it be possible to change the "wheels off track" behaviour in GPxPatch so that kerbs are not part of the track please? It would be really useful for our little competition on GP4 Central.
