South Korea hands over the lead back to Switzerland by pitting

While Switzerland is pulling away from China

Oh no! Finland runs wide!

They make contact with Brazil

Canada is there to punish Brazil for that

Even Sweden overtakes Brazil!

Let's check the standings after the stops

Looks like Sweden made a mistake! This allows Brazil to go past

Canada is getting close to FInland, but still unable to get past. In the background, Sweden wants to regain his lost position

Canada locks up, and so does Sweden

But Japan made a biggy! They go off-track!

He now loses position to South Korea

UAE now tries a move on Japan

But Japan locks up again! It'll be just enough to keep the place from Great Britain

Sweden is running a bit wide

And South Korea goes by.

Netherlands might be close enough to attack Great Britain

He pulls alongside

And gets it done

Italy now wants a bite of Great Britain too!

They run side-by-side

But Britain keeps the place

I see smoke!

It's New Zealand. WHat a shame, after they were running good in the points. Engine problem.

He finally pulls to the side of the road

Race director confirms that New Zealand had an engine problem, while Canada wants a go on Finalnd

And Canada goes by

UAE are off-track! What a disaster for the home team!

Replay shows they had a tap from the back

Netherlands might profit as they run side-by-side with Japan

Simple pass by the Dutchman who gains 2 places

UAE lock up their brakes while pushing, desperately trying to regain lost places

Sweden picked up a toe from South Korea

He pulls alongside

And gets it done, after a bit of side-by-side action

Simple move into the chicane

Italy also tried it again on UAE

Sweden is the next to target Finland

And he gets this crazy attempt into turn 1 done!

What is up with Finland as now South Korea is looking for a way past

He might do it on the straight

And indeed he's done it!

Finalnd can't resist the pressure anymore, he locks up

At the back, Portugal has a look at Argentina

But is unable to get by.

That's it for part 2, as we go to yet another break. Soon, the 2nd part of stops should start ;)

Team China

Up to 2nd after the 1st round of stops. That's good for us indeed. Hoping now that Cheng can close the gap to the Swiss driver before the 2nd round of stops gets underway.

Uhh, poor Antero, we know the car isn't up to scratch this round, and he's clearly been pushed out of the groove, and can't get back into it. Keep fighting son
Wow! Now we are in 21th... Great! :)

-----------------------------------------------------

Race day - Part 3

We are back once more, lots of action happening so far, let's see will the race settle down or will the race become even more exciting? Can I become the Murray Walker of the Nations Cup? We'll find out!

Monaco looks to be preparing a move on China

He pulls alongside

And manages to outbrake China

Germany might have a slice of China's position too

He pulls alongside

But can't complete the overtake

With all the battling in front, South Africa might have a go at Germany soon.

But Germany denies any thoughts of losing the position as he's alongisde China once more

This time he manages to get it done. He now has a podium position.

Italy might have a go at Finland

He pulls alongside

And outbrakes the Finn, who is having a terrible day it seems

Meanwhile, South Africa has overtaken China for 4th place. China now lost 3 places in just 2 laps, and is down to 5th.

Onboard with the race leader we go, and meanwhile we'll take a quick look at the standings

Further at the back, Australia pulls alongside Bulgaria for pride

And the Aussie makes that move stick

Now Argentina also had a go at Bulgaria, while Australia locks up

And Argentina got past!

2nd round of pitstops starts with Switzerland, and a few others

Monaco now leads, but has to stop

He dives to the pits as expected

The top 4 follows him in

..and a few others

Canada looks like they rejoined just behind Portugal

They might be close enough on the straight

But sadly for him, Portugal keeps the place and holds Canada up

South Korea is in the provisional lead of the race once again

Just as I say that he dives to the pits

Along with Portugal

Now after everyone made their final stop, let's look at the standings

Germany is closing up to Switzerland. This is for the race lead. Uh, intense ;)

The split times confirm that Germany has indeed closed the gap down

Japan runs slightly wide

South Korea is there to punish the mistake

Germany continues to eat into Switzerland's lead. The Swit really needs to start pushing now.

Japan definetly wants that place back from South Korea, he might have a go on the straight

He pulls alongside

And gets it done. We can also see that Australia got past Argentina

Replay shows Domenech ran wide

Simple pass by the Aussie

Germany is getting closer and closer each lap

He might be close enough on the straight!

He'll try and pull alongside

But Switzerland manages to defend beautifly

The battle isn't over, Germany might pick up the toe again on the 2nd straight

He tries to pull alongside again

But Switzerland just about knows what he's doing, he shuts the door

Monaco is now getting close to the leading pair. Will it be a 3-way horse for the race win?

Further back, UAE pulls alongside San Marino.

The home boy makes the move stick

You seemed to have liked it last round when the South Africa livery was complimented. Well, it does look nice

Back to the action, Germany is getting close to Switzerland again

He tries a move!

But it's very hard to attack there. The pressure is surely getting applied on Switzerland though.

With that move, Germany has now lost touch with Switzerland a bit

And off I go for another break. See you soon ;)

Intense !

(fingers crossed)

No idea why Cheng fell back to 5th while in 2nd. Just have to hope he can claw his way back onto the podium.

Improving all the time yay !
Race day - Part 4

Welcome back for the final part of this very promising Abu Dhabi grand prix.

Monaco is now really close to Germany after the battling with the leading pair.

Germany is getting even closer to Switzerland, as he might have a go soon

He'll try it into turn 4

And they touch!

After the touch, Monaco is all over Germany's gearbox

He might be close enough on the straight

He tries to pull alongside

But wasn't close enough in the end

This puts South Africa onto the tail of Monaco. 4-way horse for the lead of this race. Intense ;)

Onboard with Germany this time, let's check the results

China isn't that far off South Africa. Can it be a 5-way horse for the lead?

Germany lost touch with Switzerland, this can be cruical for the lead battle!

The split confirms Germany's time loss

Further back, Australia might have a go at San Marino

He tries to pull alongside

And with a bit of side-by-side stuff San Marino keeps the place

Great Britain locks up, but no harm done as they are sort of left for dead with nobody near them.

Australia has another go at San Marino

This time, he gets it done

Germany is once again closing up on Switzerland

But he makes a terrible mistake! Now he has to re-do it all again

China is getting close to South Africe for 4th place

He pulls alongside

And gets it done, just about

At the back, Bulgaria might have a go at Argentina soon

But it seems like Portugal is even closer to Bulgaria

He pulls alongside

And just about gets it done

Germany is back on Switzerland's tail once more

He tries a move into turn 4 again

But he never learns, that isn't going to work, as he loses touch again

He might have a go on the 2nd straight though

But the toe just wasn't big enough

Argentina is getting close to San Marino again

Germany has never been closer to Switzerland! He might have a divebomb into turn 1

But it looks like Switzerland will just cover it off

The danger isn't gone yet as Germany is close enough on the first straight

he tries to pull alongside

But it looks like Switzerland will defend the place again

Germany still might give it a go on the 2nd straight

He pulls alongside

And gets it done for the lead of the race, after a long-faught battle with Switzerland!

Monaco is the next to target Switzerland, but he has just 1 lap to do so.

Back to the back, Argentina has surely closed up enough on San Marino now.

He pulls alongside

And gets the move done.

Germany starts the final lap, with a sizeable lead to Switzerland

China might have a go at Monaco soon

They are now closer than ever!

But Monaco just defends the place

Portugal might pass San Marino on the final lap

he pulls alongside

But doesn't get it done.

He might have a go on the 2nd straight

Germany won, but we're focusing still on this battle! Portugal on the outside

And San Marino locks up!

Looks like it slowed down Portugal, but it'll be just enough to defend from Bulgaria

Germany won, after a bad start and a few unsuccessful overtakes, they managed to crawl their way through the field to win the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix!

Switzerland 2nd

Monaco completes the podium after a pole start.

And the last finisher has crossed the line, which means the race is now officially over

Well done to our winners Germany! Soon we should see the official results.

Team China

Pretty happy with 4th, although it could've been a podium finish had Cheng not gone backwards after the first stop. The team have managed to sort out some of the problems that has caused Cheng to struggle in the recent rounds, and for me, that is a good sign.

And congratulations Tobias Kederer and Team Germany on a fantastic victory. This will most certainly make up for the victory that was taken from them in the first round. It's still early on in the season, but I think this round may be the turning point for Germany's championship hopes.

Shame for Antero today, but he'll only grow better from this, I am sure of it.
Exciting race, battles all over the field. Was an intense fight for 1st with Team Switzerland, extremely happy to have won it.

YES!! SHE'S DONE IT!! \O/ Japan's 1st point this season! So so pleased for Ihara san & all Team Japan. Great work from the pit crew. Sake all round tonight on the plane home (due to UAE's rules). Next goal, a top 5

I don't even get upset anymore, just hope we can get some other points in next races

Team Switzerland

Almost a perfect race for us, brilliant work up front and excellent defense, such a shame that we were robbed of a win so close to the end!

Very happy with third place. It was a very intense race, our pit strategy was near perfection and Graham-Ayrton did a very good job. Congrats to Germany and Switzerland, they were just better today.

Nothing to say. I forget the deadline, so this is the "penalty".

Without boost we are nowhere everytime
