Indeed!

GPG Nations Cup Rd 2 Italian GP - Race Day

Part 3

Welcome back.

There’s not much in it between Hatfield and Kederer.

Keranen has managed to get by Paddock.

Now Paddock has to defend from Taytoh.

The rear of the field from 16th to 20th.

Keranen is now up to 6th. Hang on, that means something has happened to one of the top 6 drivers.

That indeed seems to be the case. Tung has run wide into the sand.

Replay time. Tung was under pressure from both Hatfield and Kederer, and he ended up locking up his brakes.

As a result, Tung ends up running wide into the sand.

And to make matters worse, Tung had to wait for everyone to go by before rejoining.

Tung was able to make it back ontrack, but now sits in last place.

Briere’s lead is now 1.2s.

With the race now into the 19th lap, let’s check out the current standings.

Tafuro is having a good race so far and currently holds onto 3rd. Meanwhile, behind him the battle between Hatfield and Kederer continues on.

As the battle continues on, Keranen is slowly catching up to the back of the Germany car.

The other battle going on at the moment is between Taytoh and Paddock.

However, it’s allowing Cremasco in the Brazil car to close in on them.

Cremasco isn’t the only one that is catching up.

We have a yellow flag situation.

It’s Kederer in the Germany car! He has hit the wall, and that is race over for him.

As the replay shows, Kederer had locked up and ended up running wide into the sand and hitting the wall.

It’s still on between Paddock and Taytoh, and Cremasco is waiting for his chance to make a move on them.

Taytoh draws alongside down the straight.

However, Paddock manages to hold his position.

We find McGregor holding down 13th.

Girard is being put under pressure by Dixon in the New Zealand car.

As we ride with Tung, let’s check out the current standings.

The battle still goes on between Paddock and Taytoh.

Silvestre is one position away from being inside the top 10.

Dixon sits in 16th, but De Boer in the Netherlands car is slowly closing in on him.

At the front of the field, Grimaldi is slowly catching up to Briere as indicated by the split.

Hatfield currently sits in 4th.

Unseen by the cameras, Taytoh has finally gotten by Paddock.

That now leaves Paddock having to defend from Cremasco.

At the rear, Tung is keeping close to the back of the Argentina car.

It’s very close between Briere and Grimaldi in the battle for the lead.

There’s not much Tafuro can do at the moment as he is too far back from the battle between Briere and Grimaldi.

Poirier is currently sitting in 10th, and chasing down Frutiger-Fussli for 9th.

As Grimaldi continues to chase down Briere, let’s take a look at the current standings.

Keranen currently sits in 5th.

McGregor is doing his best to close in onto the back of the Portugal car.

Not much in it between Domenech and Tung.

Paddock is now up to 6th, which means only one thing. Something has happened to Taytoh.

Replay shows that there is smoke billowing out from the back of the Ireland car.

And from what the data from inside the car shows, the engine has given up the ghost.

Taytoh pulls over to the side of the track, and retires for the second race in a row. No doubt Taytoh and Team Ireland will be disappointed, and frustrated at the same time.

Time for our final break. When we come back, we will find out who our winner will be. Be sure to not go anywhere.

Team China

Such a shame that Cheng ran wide into the sand. I guess the pressure got to him and he payed the price for it. At least Germany also had their own problems, although I'm not sure what caused their lockup which lead to their retirement. All I can hope for now is for Cheng to try his best to make it back into the top 10, as I'm almost positive that the championship standings will have a change for sure.

Fantastic work from Antero, his pace has been strong and consistent, perhaps he put Kederer under some pressure.... Nevertheless, he is performing fantastically well and we are looking forward to seeing if he can hold onto it.
Gaining positions without doing anything is not the way we like it, but we're not complaining too

Team Canada press release : Don't fuck it up you little brat ! 18 to go, and you're ahead. Stay there or you're fired !
Disappointing, boost points wasted :(

Not sure who created the first post this season, but apparently the waiting list hasn't been transfered from last season. Very sorry for that, I think it's only fair to put you back on top of the waiting list.

GPG Nations Cup Rd 2 Italian GP - Race Day

Part 4

Welcome back for the last time.

There’s a battle taking place between McGregor and Silva for 11th.

Cremasco continues to chase down Paddock for 6th.

Out front, Briere still leads from Grimaldi.

As we ride onboard with Grimaldi, let’s check out the current standings.

Paddock has lost two positions, and is in danger of losing a few more. What has happened?

The replay shows that he had ran wide into the sand.

And was lucky enough to avoid the wall while recovering.

Fortunately, Paddock was able to rejoin with only a few positions lost.

It’s still on between McGregor and Silva.

The second round of stops is now underway as Grimaldi is the first of the front runners in.

Tafuro is in as well.

Hatfield is in too.

Grimaldi rejoins in 3rd, while Tafuro rejoins in 5th.

Tafuro had rejoined in front of Frutiger-Fussli, leaving the Swiss driver with the task of trying to get by.

Hatfield rejoined the pack in 12th.

Dixon rejoins in last place after taking his stop.

Race leader Briere is in for his stop.

So too is Keranen.

Briere rejoins in the lead.

Hatfield now finds himself stuck behind McGregor.

Keranen finds himself at the back end of the top 10 after rejoining from taking his stop.

The pitlane has now gotten busy.

Nikolov has found himself having to defend from Dixon.

Frutiger-Fussli and Poirier are in for their stops.

They rejoin in 8th and 10th.

Domenech is now behind Tung.

Silva is in for his stop from 4th.

And now sits in 11th after rejoining.

Not even a lap later, the timing shows that Portugal is now out of the race. What happened to Silva?

This explains the reason. Silva had run wide and made contact with the wall. A shame as well, as he was on course for a possible points finish.

With all drivers now having made their second stop, let’s check out the current standings.

We may have a battle on our hands soon between Hatfield and Keranen.

Paddock now sits in 11th after Silva’s retirement.

Behind him, the battle between Nikolov and Dixon is still on.

The rest of the cars behind all wait their chance to make a move should there be contact between Nikolov and Dixon.

Tung now has his sights set on taking Girard’s position.

He looks to have gained ground on the Frenchman in the last few laps.

With the gap between Briere and Grimaldi as it is, this is shaping up to be a great finish.

The movers and shakers inside the top 10 as shown by the timings.

Tung is still chasing down Girard at the rear of the field.

He has a look up the inside down the straight.

And he gets the move done into the corner.

With only a few laps left, let’s check out the current standings.

Keranen is running out of laps to try and get close enough to the back of the UAE car to try for a passing attempt.

Domenech is trying his best to close in onto the back of Girard’s car.

There is still nothing in it between Briere and Grimaldi.

It’s now the final lap.

The race has been a quiet one for Tafuro as he has had no one to battle with, and it looks certain he has bagged the final spot on the podium.

For Hatfield, he hasn’t secured 4th position just yet as Keranen is still in striking distance.

It’s also been a quiet race for Cremasco as well.

Poirier still has a chance to get by Silvestre if he can get a little bit closer.

Girard will be feeling the pressure from Domenech as he continues to defend his position.

It’s been a really close battle for most of the second half of the race between Briere and Grimaldi, but it appears that the race will be going to Briere.

He enters the last corner for the final time.

And crosses the line to win the Italian GP.

Grimaldi finishes in 2nd.

And Tafuro rounds off the podium in 3rd to the delight of his home crowd.

What an incredible finish to the race. It was one of the closest finishes we have seen to date in the GPG Nations Cup, and most likely not the last. Anyways, congratulations Mathieu Briere and Team Canada, our winners of the Italian GP. We hope you enjoyed our coverage, and we’ll see you next time at Silverstone, the venue for our next round. For now, it’s goodbye from Vallelunga.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh *Sarcastic*.

Crap! Retire in a huge mistake from our driver when we recover form 22th to 11th... :(

-----------------------------------------------------

Fantastic from Antero, for sure there will be celebrations tonight. To think that we were a mere place behind the best a Finnish car has ever done in the series in only the second race of our current team shows the potential, and we fully intend to build on this further.
But for now, celebrations!
Booyah !

It was me who created the first post, and I used the last updated list that Connor posted on the season 3 thread, unfortunately willward wasn't there, maybe it was my fault, but we had been running this season for about 3 months and everyone was aware of that, and could have pointed out this mistake, or he could showed up before

Brazil
About the race, great to finish in 6th after not spending any boost on the weekend
