Great start so far for Cheng. As long as he can stay in 3rd up till the first round of stops, he could end up in a position to challenge for the lead.

haha, what a crazy part 1 for Italy! Pole to DNF..

Hey, JohnMaverick had a similar problem when he did me a render for a different car. He may know how to solve your issue ;-)

The 'problem' is in how the car has been build. I fixed a similar issue not too long ago for John, you see the car has been built up too good, and not good enough at the same time.

The car has separate parts that can come of, i.e. the sidepods. GP4 only can handle one side of the polygons that are made, so when the sidepod flies off 1 side would be invisible, not realistic of course. So in building the carshape the object was copied and inverted, thus showing the other side. For GP4 and Zmodeler these parts are one sided invisible. However other programs render both parts visible, and a conflict arises. There is not only a front and a back side anymore, but there are 2 fronts sides and 2 back sides on the same place. The programs will show this as a distortion.

My carshapes don't have that problem because my damage model isn't build the same way.

What I can do is take a look at the shape in the near future and prep it for render purposes only.

One last thing that bugs me a little bit in your messages (sorry! ;-) i can be annoying) is the use of 'TXT' files, I'm almost positive you mean to say 'TEX' files, tex is the name for GP4 texture files, txt is notepad format.

Round 10 - Indianapolis - Race Day - Part 2

Tung has reached Cremasco and is now going for the overtake

And the Chinese driver is able to pass by

Aspenström is sibe by side with Viljoen

And he makes it through

Cremasco seems o be losing some pace, now he has the Swiss car behind him

Frutiger-Füssli goes for it

But Cremasco managed to hold him

One lap later and they're at the same position

No problem for him now

SIlva and Girard are having this battle for a while now

Once again the Frenchman stays in front of the Portuguese

And the first window of pit stops is now underway

Kederer manage dto stay in front of everyone, a quiet race so far for him

Silva seems to be now behind Keranen, but for how long?

Meanwhile Girard has dropped one position, good job by the Portuguese pitcrew

The standing after the first round of pits

Tung is slowly reducing the gap between him and Kederer

SIlva and Kuei have bothh done a good job so far, McGregor on the other hand must be a little disppointed with his performance

Kuei is in danger of losing his position inside the top 10

But wasn't able to overtake him

But Aspenström goes for the overtaking justt one lap later

And is able to reach the top 10

Dixon is on the pits

The unscheduled stop was due to an brake problem

We'll be back for the final part shortly

Round 10 - Indianapolis - Race Day - Part 2

Briere caught up to Viljoen

He makes a go for it

And passes by without any problem

Grimaldi is going to have a little of trouble with Aspenström so close to him

Kederer is putting Silvestre under a lap

Tung has decreased the gap between them both

But he has now to deal it with Silvestre too

Not so much of a problem for him

Aspenström tries to overtake Grimaldi

But he has no lucky with that

The 2nd round of pit stops is now underway

Amazing work of the Canadian pitcrew, Briere has won threee positions during the stop

Tung is the fastest driver on the track

But Frutiger-Füssli delivers a amazing lap

With Dixon stopping for the last time we can take a look at the standings after the second round of pits

Tung has reached Nikolov to put him under a lap

The Bulgarian doesn't give much trouble for him

Frutiger-Füssli also has no probllem with Nikolov

Kederer and Tung have never got so close as they're now

Aspenström tries to overtake Grimaldi

No lucky for him

Kederer reached De Boer

Aspenström tries again, and for one more time has no lukcy with it

Kederer passed De Boer, and now Tung has to overtake him as well

But Tung has some problems with De Boer

Some precious time was lost there, Tung must be very upset with De Boer

Frutiger-Füssli on the other hand has no problem overtaking De Boer

The three leaders are now very close to each other

Just three laps to go, willl Kederer be able to hold on to the lead?

has finally passed Grimaldi, and is now inside the top 10

Final lap

It's going to be a close finish

Last turn, Tung is right behind Kederer

Frutiger-Füssli has given up, but Tung is going for the overtake

And the race finished, Kederer was able to hold Tung after all

What a finish we had here today

The top 3 of today's race

Congratulations to Tobias Kederer for his great winning, we'll see you all next time at Argentina

Official results

Just 0.061s between Kederer and Tung, if the race hadn't finished on that lap I believe Tung would have won after all

Podium and fastest lap even with the perf penalty for me being an idiot - sweet! :)

Not bad, but it wasn't worth the boost :(
Team China

That was a fantastic battle Cheng had with Tobias. It's a shame the Netherlands car got caught up in the battle, as Cheng could've been a bit closer at the end to get by. Still, 2nd place is a great result for us. Now to see if we are able to keep our pace from this round into the next round.

Not too bad, we were cautious and held back some boost, but Antero was able to drive a steady race and was rewarded with 6th. Not too bad, we'll be looking to improve on that in the coming races for sure.
Holy macaroni, what a close finish. Big thanks to Maikel for slightly blocking Cheng, might not have taken the win otherwise. I realised early that it might get close, as Cheng was closing the gap steadily after making the pass for second. Luckily I always gained a bit time during the pitstops, and also while lapping.

It was a good result after all, we just didn't had the pace to fight for the podium
