Round 5 Jacarepagua - Race Day - Pt 1

Welcome back to the round 5 of the GPGNC, today we're here at Brazil and all the cars are ready to go, Nikolov is the pole position

All the lights are off, Silva is already trying to steal the second place of Dixon

He is successful on his attempt, and is now going for Nikolov

Meanwhile Cremasco is trying to overtake Dixon as well

But this time he is not able to overtake the car in front of him,

As they complete the first lap we can see that Silva, Tafuro and Ihara were the only ones to move up in the top 10

Domenech is going for the overtake on Keranen

Silva once again is trying to overtake Nikolov

But Nikolov is able to hold him

Tung is facing the wrong way and is missing a wheel

The replay shows that he lost control of the car at the turn and hit the wall

Fortunately no one was hit as the Chinese car bounced back to the track

Dixon with the fastest lap

Maybe he was too excited with his lap that he forgot to brake

He returns in last place, a shame, really

Lots of battle taking place at the moment

Hatfield passed by Domenech, and De Boer passed Grimaldi

Paddock lost his position to Aspenström and also went off track

He found himself right in front of Dixon

Dixon is able to overtake Paddock, and now the Englishman is at the rear of the grid

Keranen is holding some guys behind him

Frutiger-Füssli and Briere are side by side

Kuei overtakes Kederer

McGregor is having a quiet race so far

Keranen and Grimaldi side by side

Dixon passed McGregor and is right behind Aspenström and Kederer

Cremasco overtakes Silva and sits now in second place

Keranen finnaly got by Grimaldi

And Taytoh overtakes Domenech

Dixon is also able to overtake Aspenström

Tafuro is pressuring Silva

Girard doesnt have anyone near him

Dixon overtakes Kederer and is trying to regain some points after the accident he suffered

Tafuro going for the overtake against Silva

But he has no lucky

Hatfield tries to overtake Grimaldi but is not able to

And Aspenström overtakes Kederer at the same place

After 7 laps these are the current standings

The leader Nikolov

Hatfield is trying again

Now he is able to finally overtake Grimaldi

Dixon overtaking Kuei and Frutiger-Füssli

We'll be back after some coffe

Not bad from Antero, just needs to hang in and keep fighting, there are some good points for us today hopefully
Team China

Can the season get any worse from here? After what happened in Shanghai, we were expecting a good result here, but it seems it wasn't meant to be. We'll just have to regroup and hope for much better luck in the next race.

Ihara looking good to bring home Japan's 1st points. Case of keeping it on the black stuff & hoping the reliability Gods are kind to us

Looks like we're losing positions out there :(

Great race for us so far, we are all hoping for the first victory for Bulgarian team.
Jacarepagua race day - Part 2

Grimaldi is having a very busy day as we see Taytoh side by side with him

But the car from Monaco managed to stay in front of the Irish

Frutiger-Füssli lost another position, now to Kuei

Behind them Kederer is also passing Aspenström

But the driver from Sweden is able to take his position back

Keranen is having a great debut season so far, and now sits in 7th after the overtake on De Boer

Grimaldi is off the track, and returns in front of Kuei

Meanwhile, Silvestre, Briere and Domenech are still in the same positions as they were before

Domenech is making that turn too wide

And both Briere and Silvestre are trying to take the opportunity to overtake him

But everything remains the same for them

Kederer is being pressured by Paddock, and he missed the brakes

He lost the position to Paddock as he returns in front of McGregor

Kuei overtakes Grimaldi, and behind them Aspenström is doing the same with Frutiger-Füssli

Mcgregor overtakes Kederer at the same place

And at the next lap it's the time of Silvestre to overtake Briere

Something must happened to Paddock as we see him being overtaken by Kederer

And here's why, his engine is smoking, end of race for him

We have a message and something happened to the Switzerland car

The replay shows us that Frutiger-Füssli missed the turn at the same spot as Tung

Dixon overtakes Briere

And Kuei does the same just after it

Silvestre is side by side with Domenech, and we see that the track is starting to get wet

And he made it

Another car hit the wall at the same sport as Tung

And it's Dixon, he was pushing really hard to get back to the points, maybe a little too hard

Silva is trying to reduce the gap between him and Cremasco

And Tafuro is going to have some problems with Ihara right behing him

Girard continues his own race as no one seems to be able to get close to him

Aspenström overtakes the leader of the championship

Grimaldi is now right at the rear of the Canadian

Oh no! Seems like Nikolov is smoking

And Cremasco too!!

Kuei overtakes Domenech

Grimaldi tries the same

But Briere is able to hold him

This is a relieve, seems like the track is wet, no one was smoking

Keranen overtakes Girard without much trouble

The first window of pit stops is starting

These are the standings after the first pit stops were made, Girard regained his position

Ihara is putting a big pressure on Tafuro

Silvestre tries to overtake Taytoh

But he has no lucky with that

McGregor is overtaking Kederer as they got close to Grimaldi

Tafuro missed the brakes, and on a wet track this is not good

He managed to return to the track undamaged, but has lost two positions

Make it three as Keranen also overtakes him

We'll be back for the final part after a short break

Not bad ;)
A good race so far.

My GPGSL Career
Jacarepagua race day - Part 3

And we're back to the last part of the race, just in time to see Grimaldi being overtaken by McGregor

Kederer also overtakes him, looks like Grimaldi doesn't have any pace at all

Silva got really close to Cremasco

Silvestre overtakes Taytoh

Silva got even close to Cremasco, and Keranen is right behind Girard

Nikolov is in front of Grimaldi, the Monaco driver is now a lap behind

Hatfield is going for the overtake against Taytoh

And he made it

Cremasco and Silva are getting close to Grimaldi, great display of sportsmanship by him, even without any pace he is still on the race

Kuei passed Taytoh

Kederer is overtaking McGregor, those two are having a battle of their own

Tafuro overtakes Girard and is now 6th

The standings after 24 laps

Cremasco passed by Grimaldi, and Silva has lost contact with him with this

But the Portuguese is able to pass by Grimaldi fast enough to not loose sight of the Brazilian

Aspenström overtakes Taytoh, the Irishman is falling down really fast

Domenech went for a little off track trip

Briere passed him with this

Girard is already showing up at the mirror of the Moncaco car

Meanwhile De Boer is not able to reduce the gap between Girard and himself

Another car hit the wall, and it's Ihara

She look's fine, but it's a shame, she was doing a great race so far

Kuei on a section of the track really wet, it must have been a really fast rain, as our cameras didn't recorded any rain so far

Nikolov is flying out there, he is right behind McGregor

And the second window of pit stops is now underway

Nikolov overtakes McGregor

Cremasco is going to be one of the last to pit, maybe the brazilian team has some plan to take the lead from Nikolov

And he finnaly stops

But the plan seems to have backfired as Silva is now in front of him

Grimaldi is the last one to stop

The standings after the second pit stops

And here it's how the top 10 have done since the start of the race, great job by Silvestre and Aspenström

Nikolov is now going for the Germany car, what a race by the Bulgarian

Briere tries to regain the position lost on the pits, but is no lucky

Silva must be cautious with McGregor, he doesn't want to throw away all the hard work his pitcrew did

Briere tries once again

And once again he fails

With four laps remaining Nikolov is now in front of Kederer, which puts the German a lap behind

Silva lost a little time to overtake McGregor

Which reduces the gap between him and Cremasco by more than a second

Briere is side by side with Domenech, and we can see that Cremasco has overtaken Silva, what happened?

The replays show that Silva went a little too wide on the turn

And with that, Cremasco as able to overtake him

Tafuro overtakes Keranen, great job by the Italian today

Nikolov reached Briere and Domenech

As he go for the overtake, the battle between Canada and Argentina will be postponed a little

As now he has passed both of them, the battle may once again restart

But we have no time for anything else, Nikolov crosses the line and wins the Brazilian GP, great job by him, always in front

Official Results

Awesome recover after the error, once again we bring some points home :-)

Agh! Bloody hell, Ihara... doing so well, looking good for a first haul of points & thrown into the barrier (-_-) Not impressed really

Up 8 spots for Antero, he really showed some class today. 5th is a fantastic effort, shows that we can really start to get some consistency from the car.
The team are thrilled with another top 5 position, again, this was not a targeted race for us, so it is nice to see we are getting good points even when we don't commit to it.
Going on a track like that one with no boost at all wasn't a great idea. Oh my...

What the ?! ;)
Dammit! Two stupid errors, without those I am sure we would have been pushing Bulgaria for the win!

Great job by Cremasco, finally we're in the top 10, I'm hoping we can stay there for the remainder of the season
