Here is my basic package, including TomMK's physics file, with a little edit into the performance file (2001 order, mind you) and my "monster" torque curve.

Base :

Result :

I also included two basic setup files for both 1st to 7th and 2nd to 8th fixed gear ratios. They're based on a Kevin Magnussen onboard from Melbourne and have been worked on thoroughly. They're meant to be used with 12,000-13,000 RPM max revs.

With this package, it's very hard, not to say impossible, to take Eau Rouge/Raidillon flat out. I even had to tap the brakes to stabilize the rear end. I even got wheel spin out of China's Turn 3 up to 4th (5th/8) gear.

I don't claim that this is the most realistic 2014 physics package available right now, but this is what I think is the closest to actual car behaviour from what I can feel on TV. I actually think that these files are sitting somewhere inbetween realistic and plausible. Of course, if something can be improved, feel free to share the changes made. Also, from last night's read on F1Technical.net, I found out that each driver uses his own gearing, so this may not be representative of Force India's longer gears or Sauber's shorter gears. This is supposed to be a basic setup that can be altered to match your style if you want as realistic an experience as possible :)

Video example :

Enough words, here is the link : [www.mediafire.com]

I hope you keep enjoying this game as much as I am :)

P.S. Please don't ask me to make a .cap file, I don't know how to handle that file format. If someone could be kind enough to make a .cap from my .ini I would be very grateful :)

Thanks a lot for your work! I just had a go at Spa and I really like the new physics/torque. Tbh I expected Eau Rouge to be more difficult than it actually was, I managed to take it flat out without changing the car setup ;) . Might be related to my strange driving style :-)
In general I had the feeling that not only the massive amount of torque makes things difficult but also the relatively low rear end grip. Especially under braking the rear end got instable a couple of times.

Hey Phantaman,
You sound like you know what your doing with sound stuff...and i could use your input---

im trying to put together a T6 drop and play sound pack for Toms 2014 season. Im invisioning just one turbo6 engine sound both int/ext pre-packed as a "Samples" folder to be just dropped into the main gp4 folder. I got this idea from preloading my own different sounds the same way---i just open gp4 and drop in a samples folder (example--RB10final/samples) and then im running Brieres redbull 10 sounds... we would need the incar samples and i think the ext sounds are up on the site.---(this would be an "extras" offer to go with the new laptop game you guys are building)

Anyway , let me know what you think...

Sneak preview of the torque curve from the new GP4 Central 2014 CSM Carset:

I think this is close to what we think is reality, given the information we have (see Briere's post above). But more importantly, in combination with my new performance and physics files, this feels great in-game. Lots of torque at low revs, and massive power coming quickly as the revs rise.

you see ... I'm not an "expert" on this subject (sounds), but I think u can see (ask) your questions to my friend Briere. yes this is "the guy" ;-)

@TomMK

does not have anything wrong in this (screen) of the torque curve? in my limited knowledge, I believe that there is.

Not sure if I understand what you want, you mean having the EngineData folder and the game_snd.bnk file compiled? If it is so, here´s mine (2014 sounds by Briere of course) : [www.mediafire.com]

Holy Cow Guys Sweet...
Yes perfect---the only reason i though to put them into a folder named "Samples" was for simplicitys sake--to drop into the main. Now Tom can grab these and setup the extras pack howerer he needs. I personally am having sound issues with the more exotic files--(my soundcards older than dirt)---but im still working on it. Thanks everyone...i think if a majority of pilots can get these along with the 14 physics its going to be a blast!

edit---do the engine files go in 12345 top to bottom order?

What do think is wrong phantaman?

I've gone higher than the original high of 855 bhp, which I originally said I don't think we should do - but I found that reducing the revs to 15000 also reduced the power a lot, and so I've made up for that by increasing it here. It's a fairly simple equation actually:

16600 / 15000 = 1.106 (i.e. approx 10% difference in max rpm)
855 * 1.106 = 947 (requires a 10% increase in power in the cap file to compensate)

I have gone a couple of bhp over, to 954. But overall it's a fairly equal trade-off and in game it feels great.

Looking forward to the sounds :)

this torque curve goes beyond the 15000 RPM (17500 RPM as the standard GP4 power torque curve to be exact).

2014 Sounds Zip... could someone please test---Back up your samples folder in gp4 main, then just extract the samples folder inside the zip into your main gp4 folder (ive really been waiting to say that-lol) the presets should over-write

That's just because the tool is showing that many values. The physics file limits the cars to 15000rpm so it's fine.

I just wanted to post here, in the apropriate thread, an up to date version with basic performance files (might not be fully accurate) and with a physics file edited to 12,000 RPM. The original file by TomMK is included too. My monster torque ini is also included, after a quick edit in June.
