@Mal: I think he's got the rum filled cake ;)

With regard to the race, what a shame, I was having a lovely quiet drive in 10th :)
GPGSL Rd 6 Canadian GP - Tester's Feature Race

Part 2

Welcome back.

We come back from the break to see Hinz come in for his pitstop.

Here is the Demon owner, which the cameras have managed to get a great shot of.

Domenech is also in for his stop.

Hunsley is in as well.

Hinz rejoins in 18th.

While Domenech and Hunsley rejoins in 20th and 21st respectively.

Stoddart is clearly the fastest car at the current moment. His lead is now out to 4.3s.

Stoddart is in for his stop.

Which hands the lead over to De Boer.

Schieder looks to have made a slight mistake at the final corner, which has allowed Kittleson to have a go at getting by the MAC.

Kittleson takes his chance, and has a look up the inside.

And the Shadow driver makes his move stick.

Ingers is in for his stop.

Stoddart rejoins the track in 8th.

While Ingers rejoins down the field in 19th.

De Boer is in for his stop, and in the process gives up the lead of the race.

With Hayes now in the lead, let’s take a look at the current standings.

Silvestre and Schroder are in for their stops.

De Boer rejoins in 13th after taking his stop.

Silvestre and Schroder rejoins in 18th and 20th.

Allington is in for his stop from 5th position.

The sole remaining TNR of Karjalainen is under pressure from Stoddart.

Stoddart goes to the inside.

And gets the position.

Allington rejoins in 15th and in front of the MPR.

Back to the front, and O’Brien looks to have gained some time on Hayes.

Positions 1 through to 5, all in the same camera shot.

Schieder, Thomas and De Bruyker are all in for their stops.

Copeman is in as well.

There’s drama at the pitlane exit. As Schieder rejoins, he makes contact with the MPR and locks up his brakes. This is not what he would’ve wanted.

The incident also causes the MPR to go off track slightly.

Thomas has no problems exiting the pits, and rejoins in 15th ahead of the other MPR.

The top 3 are all in for their stops.

The pitlane is really going to get busy now.

Oh no, Hayes has been held up in the pits by the cars coming in. She will not be happy about this.

She is first held up by Sheppard.

And then by Kittleson.

The end result sees Hayes lose two positions, and it appears that O’Brien was held up as well as he has lost a position to Kittleson.

O’Brien rejoins in 8th.

De Bruyker succeeds in getting past the VSM of Domenech.

Stoddart has got this race under control.

And it’s not hard to see why.

These two used to be testing teammates at Christel VXR, now they find themselves fighting over 8th place.

Thomas decides to look for a way past Karjalainen.

But he isn’t able to get by the TNR.

Now that everyone has made their pitstop, here are the current standings.

Two battles are currently taking place: Thomas vs Karjalainen, Sheppard vs Silvestre.

Santilal is in the pits. Looks like he is taking his compulsory stop as the earlier stop he took was unscheduled.

Thomas is trying for another passing attempt on Karjalainen.

He has a look up the inside.

And succeeds in getting by the TNR.

There is now a train starting to form behind Karjalainen.

Domenech has found himself needing to defend from Van Smirren.

De Boer is slowly pulling away from Hinz.

Meanwhile, Kittleson is reeling in Allington.

Hayes has got a lot of space between her and her nearest challenger.

Time for the final break of the coverage. I assure everyone that we will see who the winner will be in the next part. We’ll be back soon.

Looks like we could well be struggling to score points again this season.

Unless I'm very much mistaken... I am very much mistaken!
wwwaaayyyy to much pictures for me, big respect to the RD :D

"If in doubt, Flat out."
As much as I've enjoyed the coverage, for a testers' feature race it's a bit...substantial.

That may be something to do with the race length, though...I'd have thought about 20 laps would have been adequate for a test race. :)

Yeah, possibly.... personally, i would rather see the full race posted within 24 hrs, not the 72hrs this current trend seems to be having! And this is only the testers race!!!! LOL The main race might take 1 week of posts to get presented LOL!!!
Quality, not quantity as they say. But, so far the quality of the coverage is superb - just taking too long to see the finished product!

GPGSL Rd 6 Canadian GP - Tester's Feature Race

Part 3

Welcome back once again.

We go onboard with Sheppard as the timing shows that he has gained ground on Silvestre.

Unseen by the cameras, Sheppard had managed to get by Silvestre.

Santilal is slowly catching up to the back of Hunsley’s JHR.

The timing shows that De Boer has increased his gap over Hinz, while at the same time shows that Stoddart’s lead is now out to 11 seconds.

O’Brien has closed in on Schieder.

Kittleson is looking for a passing move on Allington.

And makes it stick. Kittleson is now up to 4th.

Next target for Kittleson is Hinz’s 3rd position.

The gap between Ingers and Hayes looks to have gotten smaller.

Hinz is losing time to Kittleson.

At the same time, Kittleson is slowly pulling away from Allington.

Hayes has managed to get in front of Ingers.

Sheppard looks to be putting pressure on Karjalainen.

As we go onboard with Stoddart, let’s take a look at the current standings.

Kittleson has gained more time on Hinz.

Schieder can’t seem to pull away from O’Brien’s SCR.

Because of this, it slows O’Brien down, which then allows Hayes and Ingers to catch up.

At the rear of the field, Domenech looks to have his hand full keeping the One behind him. As a result, it’s allowing the cars behind them to close in.

Kittleson has gained even more time on Hinz.

5 laps left to go.

Kittleson has a look up the inside of Hinz.

But isn’t able to get by the AMR.

The failed pass attempt has cost Kittleson a bit of time.

But it doesn’t seem to bother him one bit as he is still close enough to try for a passing move.

Silvestre and De Bruyker look to have pulled away from the group of cars behind them.

Will Kittleson get the job done this time?

Not this time around.

Hinz is doing a good job holding back Kittleson, but he is clearly much slower than the Shadow at this point.

Schieder has a slight lockup, and gives O’Brien an eyeful of smoke.

He manages to stay in front of the SCR though.

Looks like Kittleson has finally made the move stick on Hinz.

Kittleson isn’t the only one to make a move. Hayes has made a move on O’Brien, and gained the position off of him.

3 laps remaining.

O’Brien wants to gets his position back, so has a look up the inside of Hayes at the final corners.

But no, drama has unfolded. Hayes has locked up and gone off the track, while O’Brien has gained the position.

It’s impossible to tell if any contact was made, but it seems most likely Hayes was forced to go wide to prevent making contact.

Not only did Hayes lose position to O’Brien, she also loses another position to Ingers.

It’s still on between Karjalainen and Sheppard.

Unseen by the cameras, Santilal has managed to get by Hunsley.

Allington has been having a great day so far, and if he can get by Hinz it would be the best way to end the race on a high.

He has a look up the inside.

But he can’t quite make it, and Hinz manages to defend his position.

With the end of the race approaching, let’s take a look at the current standings.

De Bruyker has finally found his way past Silvestre’s MPR.

Not much longer to go for Stoddart.

As we see Hinz continue to defend from Allington, in the distance we can see that Hayes has managed to get the position back from Ingers.

Who would’ve thought we would see a train of cars so close to each other on the final lap?

Sheppard is trying his best, but he can’t seem to find a way past the TNR.

It’s been a truly outstanding race from Stoddart.

He takes the final corners for the last time.

And takes victory in the testers feature race.

De Boer finishes 2nd.

And Kittleson rounds out the podium in 3rd.

As for who finishes 4th, it’s hard to tell if it’s Hinz or Allington who crossed the line first. The official results will tell who got there.

What a race we saw from the testers. They don’t get many feature races throughout the season, but they always put on a good show when they do get to race. Everyone thought that De Boer would’ve ended up taking the victory, but once Stoddart got in front he never looked back once. So, congratulations to Mal Stoddart and Snake Motorsports, our winner of the tester’s feature race. Up next is the main event of the weekend, when we get set for the main qualifying session. We’ll see you then.

Well done Mal.

I'll take that nice 10th place.
A podium without boost? Absolutely delighted :)

EDIT: Granted, I'm not sure who finished 4th without the results page to back it up - but on the assumption Chris managed 4th (and assuming the positions remained the same for the last lap otherwise), this would be the table:

Hinz 50
Kittleson 47
Stoddart 45
van Smirren 37
O'Brien 33
De Boer 31
Thomas 29

Very decent result by D&D.

My Grand Prix 4 Files

I'm a total dick. How many people can say that?
i agree with the 72hrs post frequency that was mentioned......its to long.

Coverage is fantastic, but perhaps, a fewer images and quicker uploads? ;) just a thought =) save alot of time for the rd´s. A balance between quantity and quality ;)

Well done to new boy Matthew Allington, on a very impressive GPGSL debut. 5th on debut is fantastic. Team boss Sheppard however, battled to get genuine speed out of the Demon, even with personal and team boost! Confused....

And yet again, more evidence that boost is not the almighty saviour we think it can be!! Rookie Allington getting a great finish, ahead of many boost aided drivers! LOL

GPGSL Team Owner Debut - Melbourne, Season 8 - present
GPGSL Test Debut - Hungary, Season 4. GPGSL Race Debut - Adelaide, Season 5.
So much win, very donuts, awesome boost, no explosion.
Meanwhile, amazing result for SCR as well. Nice work boys. Let's see this performance in the main race. :-)

Decent performance from the AMR boys. It's a pity that Chris couldn't keep the podium, but it is a promising result. Yet the main race might turn out to be a gamble, with all those boosts.

Once again also a strong performance from SCR. They'll be the team to beat in the main race. And congrats to Mal and Snake to this deserved win. Though a pity that Jo-Anne was held up in the pits.

LOL! Oh the irony, in real life my car engine blew up last night too.

And this time I fell victim to reading the threads, but not posting. DOH! Sorry!
