A reminder of how historically, celebrated Food + GPGSL are not always a wise idea...

Jenson drives it like he owns it; Lewis drives it like he stole it

thats a very conservative way of putting it. I hope nothing like that is in the offing for this race.

GPGSL S9 R5 Spanish Grand Prix - Jerez

Free Practice

So, the Jerez circuit has been finally passed as fit by the GPGSL stewards after some last minute alterations to the track.
All the competitors were champing at the bit to get the Spanish Grand Prix weekend underway.

Glen Sheppard was the first to take to the track and therefore takes pole.

Team mate Sebastian Nell is next up and makes it a demon 1-2, Sheppard will be praying for a sudden dowpour now.

TNR's Karjalainen takes 3rd place.

Hunsley comes close to taking the lead, just 9 thousandths down on Sheppard.

Domenech gets slightly closer, this is close.

Van Smirren makes it 4th place.

O'Brien takes first, less than half a tenth faster.

Jo-Anne grabs a creditable 5th.

Max Schieder takes the wooden spoon despite having a driver boost.

MPR continue their early season form as Santilal takes first, but yet again it's by a very small margin.

De Bruyker sets a similar time to his team mate.

Silvestre lets the side down for MPR, only 11th.

McGregor is way down in 11th.

Ingers uses his driver boost to take 1st.

But his KFR team mate Hinz spoils his celebrations by instantly beating his time.

De Boer will be disappointed with 14th position.

Copeman is one place behind his team boss.

Stoddart squeezes into the top 5.

Kevin Schröder makes his return to the GPGSL with 11th place.

The first of the Team Shadows and Thomas can't make the top 10.

But Kittleson sticks his Shadow right between the KFRs.

Our last runner is almost last himself, Mills is 20th.

Van Smirren is first out with his second run. Lets see who improves.

And it's van Smirren himself, who is first to improve and takes the top spot.

Karjalainen moves up to 12th.

Schieder makes a leap from last to 7th.

Copeman moves up two to take a top ten spot.

Nell moves in just behind his team boss.

Silvestre is still struggling to find a decent setup, but improves to 17th.

De Boer will be much happier with 5th place,

Kittleson sets another fine lap in 2nd.

3rd runs and van Smirren is first out again.

But it's Ingers this time that takes the lead.

Silvestre seems to finding his way with his setup, 10th place.

Thomas jumps eight places to 10th.

Nell is looking good for his race seat in the next round, 5th place for the German.

Hayes takes 11th.

Schröder is first out for a change.

And improves by one place to 18th.

20th only for Mills, just behind his team mate. This is not a good season for TNR so far.

20th seems to be a bit popular at the moment, but not for the drivers.

So ends the Free Practice session. Congratulations to Ingers and KFR with the win.

Mr Nell appears to be doing his utmost to raise his hand to claim the vacant Demon race seat permanently. A fine drive, Seb!
Me on the other hand, well a midfield finish is about where I expected to be....

Good signs of some speed. Lets see what Mr Legge and the departing Zsigimond can produce....

Sad to seet hat VSM has some problems though, luckily we have a big chance for improvement.
Let's wait and see.

Hui, it's not the great return I've dreamt of, but it's quite okay and on the other hand there's much room for improvement.
Best regards to VSM for the hot sessions in Jerez esp. the race!
Not too bad, I'm happy with 4th - especially as we had no boost this time.

used to be GPGSL's Nick Heidfeld
From 1st to 8th. Guess I wasn't able to improve on my time. Still, as my team mate and team boss said, the session was still a decent one. Now to see how the race drivers will go when they head out for qualifying. In the meantime, time for me to crack open a can of Monster Energy and sit back and relax.

I'm fine with 12th.
Very strong team result in FP. Chris has shown that even without a driver boost, a good position can be possible. And congrats to the boss for this fabulous drive! It makes me proud to see the KFR car so fast.

Not very good my result...

with double penalty and no boost I really thought i was going to be last, so 13 it's not a bad result ( very close to Monil's time too).

Yes 9th :)
