It occurred to me that I should probably share at least something of an update, if not the perfect render.
This screen shot represents last weekend's work on the walkway overpass. Everything including the stairs was built in 3d and then an image was captured within the GP4 Builder. The textures for the stairs and framing were created from those shots reducing the faces by 600. At this stage I'm not having a problem with the file size or the faces count however it is a large circuit of over 6 km and there are many more objects to build. I believe I have achieved a very similar end result in the overall appearance using this method. My textures are far from perfect nevertheless I'm learning lots on the fly and things come together pretty quickly these days.
Still working on the shadows...
Recently I animated some flags for the main straight only using 6 frames, I believe they look okay in game and again it was quite the learning curve. I have not had much time this summer to work on Bathurst, fall is right around the corner and I will have more time this winter to work on my hobby. I am very passionate about building the circuits that I know and love and I believe I am completely addicted to the world of 3d modeling and textures creating.
Be assured that Bathurst is being worked on constantly and it will eventually be complete and editable for any that care to do it
