GrandPrixGames Nations Cup Season 3 [Round 17 - World Grand Prix - Abu Dhabi: Race pg 81-82!]

Team China

Race is going well for Cheng. Hopefully he can keep improving and maybe end up in the top 5 come the end of the race.

Based on the current standings on lap 17, this is how the points stand:

Germany: 72 + 0 = 72
Bulgaria: 70 + 0 = 70
Great Britain: 68 + 0 = 68
Australia: 67 + 0 = 67
France: 61 + 10 + 1(Pole) + 1(Fastest Lap) = 73

So for now, France is the provisional champion. Still 20 laps left, so anything can still happen.

I think Germany will do just enough to win the title.

5 x WCC - S5, S6, S7, S8, S10 | 4 x WDC - S5 Nick van der Voort ; S6, S7, S8 Ed Greenhalgh | 2 x WTC - S6 Stuart Ingers; S8 Andrei Sevastian
Germany would win on countback I assume, so realistically they only need to find 3 spots if France finishes second. And France cannot afford another position loss...

Part 3

Welcome back once again.

The gap between Girard and De Boer looks like it has been reduced.

Further back, McGregor looks for a move on the inside of Paddock, but isn’t able to make it work.

Kederer looks for his chance to get by the Australia car.

But isn’t able to get by, so McGregor keeps his position.

Behind them, Nikolov waits for his chance to strike.

Onboard with Girard, as the standings shows that he trails Vukcevic by just under 5 seconds, and leads De Boer by 1 second.

1 second isn’t much in terms of distance.

The current race leader.

On lap 20 now, so here are the current standings.

Back to the battle between Germany and Australia, and Kederer appears to be really close to the back of McGregor. Perhaps a bit too close.

Thankfully, there was no contact made.

Kederer gets an eyeful of smoke as McGregor locks up his brakes.

McGregor still keeps ahead of the Germany car, but for how much longer?

De Boer is a bit closer to Girard.

Silvestre looks to have his 4th position secured with a 1 second advantage over Austin.

Back to the battle between Australia and Germany, and it’s clear that Kederer will not let McGregor out of his sight.

It’s been a tough race so far for Sarosa.

Onboard with De Boer, as the standings shows that Kederer has finally gotten by McGregor.

Tung looks close enough to Kamikaze to attempt a move up the inside.

And the Chinese man gets the position.

Kamikaze isn’t willing to just let Tung get away.

McGregor has lost another position, this time to Nikolov. Perhaps the tyres have finally given up which is affecting Australia’s outright speed.

Or maybe not, as McGregor goes for a pass on Nikolov.

Unfortunately, Nikolov is able to defend his position and McGregor stays behind the Bulgaria car.

But McGregor is not giving up just yet. He goes side by side with Nikolov down the straight.

And finally gets his position back at the corner.

The battle is still on between France and Netherlands.

De Boer looks up the inside of Girard.

And gets the position. Netherlands now up to 2nd.

Taytoh keeps his sights set on Austin’s position.

Japan starts the second round of stops by pitting first.

Spain is in as well, but has to wait for Japan to be serviced. This is going to cost Spain a massive chunk of time.

It’s now time for Spain to take their stop, but the pitcrew have gone back into the garage. Alverez must be fuming in rage over the unnecessary delays.

Now the crew comes back out and starts servicing the car.

Alverez finally gets going, but has lost heaps of time and is now out of the running for a points finish.

Nearing the end of lap 24, so let’s take a look at the current standings.

Ireland and Germany in pitlane for their stops.

Race leader is in for his stop.

Who hands the lead over to De Boer.

Austin is in for his stop.

Silva pits as well.

We can see a battle brewing between Cauncaunibuca and Alvarez.

Silvestre currently sits in 3rd, with Tung further back in 4th. But both still need to make their second stop.

As we focus on Paddock, the standings show that Girard has taken to the pits for his stop.

Tung also pits for his stop from 4th.

McGregor is also in for his stop.

Nikolov looks to be holding up Vukcevic.

De Boer is in for his stop.

Silvestre takes to the pits for his stop as well.

And Nikolov takes his stop as well.

On lap 28 now, so let’s look at the current standings.

One final break before we see who will be our champion. Stay tuned.

We're still in the race - a miracle! :)

We were seemingly dicked by the pit stops.

I do feel like I have to enquire as we have had some problems with perfs before, but are Team GB using the full allocation of boost as requested?

We seem awfully slow.

Unbelievable what happened with the Spanish Pit Stop.
Lucky for us since we climb another place... But that was really strange. :-O

-----------------------------------------------------

It's related to the magic data; if the car hasn't enough fuel for another lap, he will enter the pits regardless if already a car is in the pits of the same team.

I'm a total dick. How many people can say that?
Seems like we jumped to first during the second pit window :) Things are looking up!

Part 4

Welcome back once again. This is it. No more breaks. Time to see who will be our champion.

As we ride with Girard, the standings shows that De Boer has a 4.6s lead over Vukcevic.

Girard will need to find a way pass Vukcevic so he can chase down the race leader. 3rd place will not help him win the championship. He needs to win this race.

With everyone now having pitted for the final time, let’s look at the standings.

Girard looks close enough to Vukcevic to go for a move up the inside.

And he gets the move done. Girard now sits in 2nd place. Can he catch De Boer in time for his chance at the title?

Here is the gap between De Boer and Girard.

Cauncaunibuca still hasn’t been able to make any improvements in this race.

As Kederer continues to chase down Silva, the standings show that he currently sits in 10th. And with Girard in 2nd, 10th will just be enough for Germany to seal the title.

Vukcevic must be thinking what may have gone wrong that cost him the lead of this race.

The same could be said for Nikolov. With Girard in 2nd, and Kederer in 10th, this puts Bulgaria in 3rd in the championship.

Here’s the gap between Netherlands and France, and also the distance needed for Girard to make up.

On lap 32 now, so let’s take a look at the standings.

The race also hasn’t been going well for Copeman. He’s currently chasing down Sarosa in the Philippines car.

Not long to go now for Germany.

While for the other contenders, it’s basically game over for their chance to become champion.

Here’s how the top 10 have moved since the start.

3 laps left to go.

With that, let’s look at the standings. Doesn’t look like much has changed.

Who knows where Alvarez would be if it wasn’t for the massive delay suffered during his stop.

2 laps to go now.

Austin looks secured in 5th, but he isn’t out of the woods just yet. Tung and Silvestre can still get by if they can get a bit closer.

Onboard with Copeman, as he chases down Sarosa.

He has a look up the inside.

And gets by the Philippines car.

De Boer comes out of the final corner.

And crosses the line to win the Abu Dhabi GP.

Girard finishes 2nd.

And Vukcevic rounds off the podium in 3rd.

Taytoh and Austin finish in 4th and 5th.

Tung and Silvestre finish in 6th and 7th.

Kamikaze, Silva and Kederer round off the top 10.

Now to decide who our champion is for the season. Let’s look at how the points scored will make the decision:

Germany: 72 + 1 = 73
Bulgaria: 70 + 0 = 70
Great Britain: 68 + 0 = 68
Australia: 67 + 0 = 67
France: 61 + 10 + 1(Pole) + 1(Fastest Lap) = 73

France ties with Germany with both finishing on 73 points, but due to the 3 victories obtained by Germany during the season, the title goes to Team Germany on countback.

Congratualtions Maikel De Boer and Team Netherlands, our winner. And congratulations Tobias Kederer and Team Germany, our champion for Season 3. We hope you enjoyed the coverage, and also enjoyed all the action that took place throughout the season. Time for us to go now, and we hope to see you back at the season opener for the start of Season 4. Goodbye.

Results Still To Come

Putain enfer!
Once again, we French roll over for the Germans!! LOL!

Damn that Ireland car putt putting down the pitlane that cost us time at our first pit stop. WIthout that delay, we perhaps would not have lost the time, and track position we did. Then, the championship could have been ours....
We are happy with 2nd in the chanpionship, albeit angry/upset/dissapointed at not clinching the ultimate result her in Abu Dhabi. Lets get the hell out of here to a country with alcohol, quick smart!!!!

FANTASTIC to win here at the season finale! We have managed to finish the season off as strong as possible to keep our hopes up high for season 4! We would like to congratulate Germany on their championship!

Once again, I hope Team Netherlands can drive with number 6 again next season, just like we did in S1 and S2 :) Might be time for a complete car-texture overhaul this time around!!

Woohoo, Champions!!!!!!

What a race, until the second round of pitstops I didn't think that we'd win it. Can't believe how much luck we had in this one, Ireland holding off France in the pits, Spain losing many time in the pits, and with one lap more Australia probably would have passed us. But now it's partytime, everyone is invited to celebrate with us, we've alcohol and food en masse (B)(B)(B)

18th... Very good lol.

Congratulations to Kederer and Germany,

This was one hell of a race, unfortunately for us it ended early

As I'm changing countries for next season, would like to change my number to 23

Team Ireland

A nice 4th place for us here. The team is very pleased with our performance today. We hope to build on our promising start in the Nations Cup and continue on into next season.

Congratulations to Team Germany on winning the championship this season.

Team China

Very pleased with 6th position. Cheng did everything he could to try and make the top 5, but it looks like Team USA had the better pace to maintain 5th at the end, so can't be too disappointed about that. Here's hoping for a strong start once Season 4 gets under way. Also, we here at Team China request to continue using the #14 for next season.

And lastly, a big congratulations to Team Germany on winning the championship.
