Holy ****! Top 7 seperated by less than 1 tenth! :O

Great job by Austin to get third - he didn't even have maximum boost! :)

10th on the grid. That's a decent result. Gives more chance for Cheng to make it into the top 10 at the end of the race.

Good luck to the title contenders. I have an idea on what is needed from each team for them to win the title, but it gets really confusing working out all the possibilities.

17th is fair for the performance I have. Will take lots of luck & a wee touch of skill to make top 10 though

15th is not where we wanted to be, at least we are ahead of Germany. Our aim for the race is minor points and our hope is that will be enough to secure the title.
Wow! Team France have given themselves the best chance possible, to attempt to steal the title in the season finale!! Pole position is the best spot to start the race from, in what is realistically, an outside chance of winning the championship - a lot of things have to go our way.... but, so far so good. Can't do anymore than 1st on the grid - our result and destiny, is in our hands : what everyone else does, we can't control. Come on Jean Girard, bring it on home for France!(Y)

I fear that our performance, or lack thereof, in qualifying had ultimately ended our hopes of sealing the championship.

A fantastic performance from Vukcevic, pulled it out right when it counts to grab that. I thin we have a great shot of taking a win in the final race, although in a way it would be great for Girard to win and take the championship from so far back. We'll try not to interfere with the championship, but trust me we aren't going to give up places!

16th with less performance?? Very good! ;)

Monaco :

Nice to be in the "Top Tenth" ;)

And "Allez la France !" to our dear neighbour. Catch it if you can, it would be nice. :)

9th is all right since we're not using the FULL BOOST. Let's see how the race goes...

Wow, so close top 7, we may not be title contenders but we could make things very interesting for the race.

GPG Nations Cup Rd 17 Abu Dhabi GP – Race Day

Part 1

Welcome back. We are now set for the start of the final race of the season. By the end of this race, we will have a new champion. Who that will be is still a mystery. Jean Girard for France is on pole, and is in a good position to take the crown. However, he must win this race and hope that the other contenders fall out of the running. Otherwise, Kederer for Germany and Nikolov for Bulgaria will have the chance to win the title as long as they make it to the finish in the points. Anyways, it’s time now to head down to the track, as the RD readies himself to let the race go green.

Weather Report: Dry

The cars are all lined up, and ready to race. Only 5 teams are left in the title hunt, only 1 will be champion at the end of this race.

And away we go! Plenty of jostling down the pack, while Girard converts pole into an early race lead. Meanwhile, Austin in the USA car looks for a pass up the inside, but can’t make the move work and slots back into 3rd.

The standings show that Kederer has lost a position to Copeman. Germany need to gain positions, not lose them if they want to win the championship.

As the cars negotiate their way through the corners, the standings show that Nikolov has lost a position. Like with Germany, Bulgaria needs to gain positions to have any chance to win the championship.

Tung in the China car sits in front of Paddock in the Great Britain car. Paddock needs to make sure he doesn’t get held up too much if he wants his chance at the championship.

There’s contact made between San Marino and Monaco. But what happened to cause the contact?

Grimaldi looks to be at fault in this incident.

Silva ends up hitting the Monaco car as Grimaldi was recovering, which makes the Monaco car go sideways.

Grimaldi manages to recover and face the right way, but the end result is that everyone bunches up together. Meanwhile,in the distance it appears that Cremasco in the Mexico car has been hit quite hard.

All bunched together. This won’t be any good.

The reason for the damage on Cresmaco’s car is due to Cauncaunibuca hitting the rear of the Mexico car. This will also result in the Fiji team needing an unscheduled stop to replace the broken front wing.

Cremasco stranded on the side of the track with only 3 wheels.

As the confirmation of Mexico’s retirement is announced, we can see the top 5 placings.

France takes the fastest lap.

Onboard with Girard, as the standings show that he has a 1 second lead over Vukcevic in the Montenegro car.

USA and Montenegro look to be engaged in battle for 2nd place.

Which ends in Vukcevic’s favour, leaving Austin in 3rd and also allowing both Netherlands and Japan to slowly close in.

Not sure what has happened to Domenech in the Argentina car, but he has lost 2 places. One to Bulgaria and one to Australia. He won’t be too pleased about that.

As a result, Domenech now has more cars to defend against. As for Kederer, he’ll need to be extra careful so as not to get involved in any incidents.

Onboard with Kederer, as he does his best to keep close to the back of Domenech. Ahead on the track are Nikolov and McGregor. Three title contenders within very close range means they’ll need to take extra care to prevent making contact.

As Nikolov defends from McGregor, Kederer goes for a pass on Domenech up the inside.

And makes the move stick as Domenech locks up.

Sarosa has no choice but to lock up as he tries to avoid hitting the rear of the Argentina car, and loses a spot to Copeman.

Girard sets another fastest lap.

Silva in the Portugal car sits just inside the top 10 in 9th.

Here is how the top 10 have moved since the start of the race.

McGregor looks for a move on Nikolov.

And gets the pass done. Great move by the Australian.

As we ride onboard with Vukcevic, let’s take a look at the current standings.

The battle for 3rd is looking interesting, as De Boer does his best to keep with the USA car.

While further back, Monaco and Ireland are having a battle of their own.

Kederer is right on the back of Nikolov. The top 2 in the championship are right with each other, even though they are both outside the points.

Kederer looks close enough to make a move.

And makes the move work. Kederer now sits in front of Nikolov.

But Kederer would rather be battling for a points finish over where he is now.

As we focus in on Girard, the standings shows that Silvestre managed to get by Kamikaze for 5th.

The top 5, all in the same camera shot.

Another battle taking place further down the order is between Domenech and Copeman.

The standings shows that Ireland has managed to get by Monaco.

And this explains why Ireland was able to get by. Monaco’s engine has blown into a cloud of smoke and fire. Alvarez takes the chance to go by.

Grimaldi pulls over to the side of the track to allow the other cars through.

But what’s this? There is major damage sustained on the Monaco car.

And now Kung in the South Korea is off the track. Was there contact between the two?

From Kung’s view, it appears that Grimaldi hadn’t pulled over far enough, and the end result sees Kung drive straight into the side of the Monaco car causing damage to both cars.

Here are the confirmations of both South Korea’s and Monaco’s retirements.

Tung now sets his sights on Alvarez’s 9th place.

He has a look up the inside.

But wasn’t able to make the move work, so Tung stays behind. However, Paddock has now closed in on the battle.

Tung doesn’t give up though, and gets the position at the end of the straight.

This now leaves Alvarez in the clutches of Paddock.

As we near the end of lap 6, here are the current standings.

With Alvarez having to defend his position from Paddock, the battle has allowed McGregor to slowly catch up to the back of the Great Britain car.

The camera may be on Nikolov in the Bulgaria car, but in the distance it looks like Tafuro is trying for a pass on Sarosa.

Sarosa was able to successfully defend his position, which leaves Tafuro behind the Philippines car.

Copeman decides to try for a pass on Domenech.

But no, he wasn’t far enough up the inside and makes contact with the Argentina car.

This leaves Domenech out wide, and he ends up losing a position to both Sarosa and Tafuro as he rejoins.

Back to the front, as Girard and Vukcevic continue to hold onto 1st and 2nd.

The battle for 3rd on the other hand is still close between De Boer and Austin.

And could soon become a 3 way battle as Silvestre is slowly catching up.

Further back, it appears that Kederer is slowly catching up to the back of McGregor.

It’s still close between Sarosa and Tafuro.

Onboard with Tafuro, as Sarosa has a slight lockup.

Cauncaunibuca hasn’t been having a good day. Fiji currently sits in last place.

It’s time for a break. Be sure to rejoin us as we continue on with our coverage.

Not going well, already lost 2 places.

My Grand Prix 4 Files

I'm a total dick. How many people can say that?
It seems that a top 10 in the championship at the end of the season it would be difficult for us...

Not bad so far! Up a few places :) Hoping to keep USA behind and then march up to the 2 front runners!

GPG Nations Cup Rd 17 Abu Dhabi GP - Race Day

Part 2

Welcome back to the coverage.

Taytoh has managed to claw back a bit of time as he continues to chase down Kamikaze for 6th.

The notification shows that Spain is in the pits, yet it’s a bit early for the first set of compulsory stops. What may have happened?

Electrical problems are the reason for Spain’s unscheduled stop.

With Spain in the pits, both McGregor and Kederer move up a position.

Three of the contenders all in camera shot.

On lap 9 now, so let’s take a look at the standings.

Kederer is now right on the back of McGregor.

At the rear of the field, Sarosa heads the train that includes Tafuro and Domenech.

Here’s a great shot of Vukcevic in the Montenegro car.

There’s a slight lockup from McGregor, but it shouldn’t hurt him too much.

Pitlane is set to get busy, as the first round of compulsory stops gets underway. France is the first of the front runners in.

USA are also in.

Uh-oh, Girard had to wait for Ireland to go by before being released. Very unfortunate for the French team.

Girard rejoins in 11th.

Silvestre now sits in front of Austin after rejoining from the pits.

Tafuro rejoins in 17th after taking his stop.

While Domenech and Cauncaunibuca rejoin in 18th and 19th.

Japan pits from 3rd.

Canada are in as well.

Kamikaze now sits in the middle of Austin and Taytoh after rejoining the track from the pits.

Taytoh goes for a move on Kamikaze.

And is unsuccessful in getting by the Japan car.

He tries again to get pass.

And this time manages to get the position.

That’s odd. Why is the notification showing South Korea in the pitlane? They are no longer part of this race.

Despite still needing to pit, Tung keeps his sight set on Silva in the Portugal car.

McGregor now sits near the rear end of the field after rejoining from his pitstop.

Vukcevic is in for his stop from the lead.

Silva and Tung are in as well.

Kederer also takes his stop.

The holdup in the pits for Girard has indeed cost him dearly, as Vukcevic has managed to rejoin in front of the France car.

Lap 13 current standings.

De Boer gives up the race lead as he enters the pits for his stop.

Paddock and Nikolov are in as well for their stop.

Standings show that De Boer has rejoined 3rd after taking his stop.

Current race leader is now Vukcevic of Team Montenegro.

Now that everyone has taken their first stop, here are the standings.

Great Britain heads the other title contenders.

While out at the front, Girard is sitting nicely in position to steal the title from under the nose of the others. But there is still plenty of laps left before the champion will be crowned.

The top 4, all in camera shot.

Alvarez has made a good fight back after his earlier electrical problem, and currently defends from Silva. But he still needs to make a compulsory stop at some point.

Seems the tables have turned, as Tafuro now sits in front of Sarosa. He most likely got in front of the Philippines car during the first round of stops.

Despite that, Sarosa is still keeping close to the back of Tafuro.

Netherlands may not be in title contention, but De Boer will still be hoping for a good result. For now, he is in chase mode as he tries to catch up to Girard.

The battle between Tafuro and Sarosa continues to intensify.

Onboard with Sarosa, as he has a look up the inside of Tafuro down the long straight.

He goes for a move on the inside.

And gets the move done. Great bit of driving from the Philippines driver.

On lap 17 now, so let’s take a look at the standings.

Time for another break. We hope to continue the coverage soon.

Crap! two places lost in the pits. Hope for recover in the final part of the race.

-----------------------------------------------------

Worried there when Tafuro got past, Sarosa would fall back, but delighted to see him go back through. More retirements (about 6-7) & a Top 10 is possible. Not going to get there on pace alone though
