Karun Chandhok will be replaced by Yamamoto for the German Grand Prix. It looks like Christian Klien will get at least one race in later on in the season in order to help Colin Kolles make a decision about the 2011 line-up.

How can they even start to think about changing the drivers when the car is a complete pile of crap and needs sorting first!? I really can see this team being the first to fall...

Because Yamamoto brings in more cash. It isn't a performance issue.

Car isn't too bad for one that sat with no development for 3 months then had to be bodged together with a couple of weeks till the first race after Campos realised that buying an F1 car isn't as cheap as they thought.

Harsh on Chandhok.... he's been immense at times this year.

But Yamamoto almost certainly brings in the money, perhaps the team are simply trying to rotate the race seat between Bruno, Karun and maybe even Klien out of fairness to them.

How do you develop a car when you keep putting a different driver in the seat?

It's a shame money dominates who's in a racing car and whos not. It's a shame that its not just F1 these days too.

If the long-term future of the team is more secure then I've no problem. There were far worse pay-drivers in the mid-90s. Yamamoto isn't exactly a Lavaggi or Deletraz.

It's a shame, yes, but [Hot Fuzz mode] it's for the greater good.

According to Christian Klien, all 4 drivers are being nominated equally for the rest of the season.

Just putting that out there...

I hope Klien does Spa, Monza, Suzuka and Brazil :p

He'll take the fight VR and Lotus!

Next year HRT should use Nick Heidfeld and Christian Klien. Bruno Senna should go somewhere (Renault maybe) and Chandhok could possibly get a drive at Force India if they lose Sutil to Williams. After all, Chandhok is Indian :)

And yes Sakon should go get a tester role somewhere as well, maybe Virgin or Lotus.

All 4 drivers, when signed the contract, agreed to drive at least one race... it's like there's no "official" driver for HRT

By the power of Greyskull!

Seriously, though - i'm with Gav on in this. Kolles is protecting the future of the team, so fair play to him. I expect they'll not bother with too much 2010 development anyway, so it's not likely to harm them. It reminds me of Ligier in 1993 ;)

+1

It's only after we've lost everything, that we are free to do anything.

Something tells me HRT aren't going to record 2 podium finishes in one race in the following season. ;)

Why does everyone say Senna should be at Renault?
He hasn't done anything to merit staying in F1, let alone moving up the grid.
