It seems that Sainz Jr is closing in on the STR drive, he's got his reward test with RBR for winning the FR3.5 this week, but for me what is really telling that Vergne is out in the cold is that he's not evening testing the STR this week, Verstappen is doing both days. I suspect Sainz is the clear favourite now, and it wouldn't surprise me if Lynn gets the odd Friday run out either.

According to Ted Kravitz, Vergne has now entered the frame to replace Nasr as Williams test and reserve driver who oddly enough is testing the Williams this week, despite being confirmed at Sauber for next year.

Joylon Palmer is testing the Force India along with some guy called Spike. Which is relatively ramdom.

Presumably its contractual.

At least they were smart enough to drop the double points for the last race again! Seems the FIA isn't 100% corrupt yet, only 99%.

On the face of it it's been a very poor test for Honda, but look at it in the other light. Renault said they were three months behind schedule when they were homologated last year - on that basis, Honda are right on schedule. Also, Red Bull managed a similar number of laps at Jerez, so Honda are 2 months ahead in that sense. Clearly it was meant to go better than this, but it's impossible to gauge at the moment.

It's been a desperately poor test for the aero changes they were intending to validate though.

Nitpicking time! ;)

Ferrari order would probably be Raikkonen-Vettel, not the other way round - whenever Ferrari have had a new or returning driver to the team since coloured T-cams were introduced, they've always been given the yellow T-cam (or black when it was red/black cameras in '06), just thought I'd point that out if you're putting these guys in order ;-)

What if both are returning/new drivers, say like 2015? ;)

Vettel is the only one who wasn't at the team in 2014 ;)

You could argue that they're still waiting on Raikkonen returning. ;)

There has been an announcement that F1 should have 21-race calendar, very interesting to see Korea came alive back.

It's not interesting at all, Korea's essentially a string of tarmac surrounded by a yawn-inducing atmosphere of mediocrity, greyness and tedium.

I mean, they could at least plant a few trees...

Agree 100%.

I suspect it's only there to ensure Mexico are on target.
