Very sad news - [wp.me]

Three time Formula One champion Jack Brabham passed away peacefully on Monday morning in Australia.

An absolute legend of the sport, and someone whose record of winning a championship in a car bearing his own name is unlikely to ever be eclipsed.

RIP Sir Jack Brabham

Sad news indeed, at least he lived to a grand old age. I've watched his edition of the Sky F1 Greats series a few times in the last few months, and thought what an exceptional life and F1 career he'd had.

RIP to a legend.

A true behemoth of motor racing, the likes of which we will never see again at a high level.

RIP :(

Yup, a sad day.

What a legend! Having read some of today's tributes to him and learning of his entry into racing, he becomes all the more impressive. He only took up racing because the bloke who was driving the car he was preparing had to give it up because his wife told him to! What a brilliant story.

He spoke of his 'mechanical sympathy' for the car. With his engineering knowledge being so honed, he would drive a car to its limit but never over. He knew exactly how hard to push to extract the maximum whilst ensuring the car would come home.

RIP Sir Jack
