Yes! so excited for him. Ive been cheering for him since he came on the scene and was hoping for a couple of years that he would get webbers seat.
Hopefully red bull keep building good cars and that even with the lack of equality in the team he can get a good couple of podiums in his first season and sometimes push vettel.
Shows that the toro rosso, junior red bull philiosphy is working

I'm no aussie, but even I'm dead chuffed! I think he'll be a very popular driver, and I'd love to see him do well

I've watched the announcement video and from what I gather it seems that RBR are lining up Ricciardo to be Vettel's successor... ;)

Good luck to the guy.

In a way, they had to promote either him or Vergne otherwise the whole Red Bull - Toro Rosso driver development and graduation thing was going to become a whole waste of money. To date Vettel is the only driver to graduate from STR to RBR... out of how many?

Speed, Luizzi, Bourdais, Buemi and Alguersauri and out of them none of still race in F1.

So okay, Speed was a bit useless, Luizzi went a bit flat.. Bourdais couldn't adapt from Champcar... but at least Buemi and Alguersauri showed plenty of potential.. Red Bull could have continued their development by loaning them to other teams.

Having a Red Bull supported Alguersuari in a Caterham or Marussia would be far better than having the likes of Chilton ;)

Can't help but feel he's going to be what Eddie Irvine was to Schumi...

I ended becoming a huge fan of Alguersuari after his 2011 heroics...I genuinely think he'd have been a great driver for Red Bull.
