Hi everybody!

This may look like a silly question, but since the start of the new season in Formula 1 I still ask myself where you can find the car numbers on the VJM05. Could someone explain this to me? I've been look at it for several pictures, but can"t seem to find them.

Thx!

You know, that's a really good point - I was sure that the regs state the number should be placed on the nose.

From F1.com

"...Every car must carry its driver’s race number, which must be clearly visible from the front of the car, and the driver’s name must appear on the external bodywork of the car. The team’s name or emblem must also appear on the nose of the car..."

theyre between the two pillars under the nosecone/front wing assembly!

Also to be noted, you can see the team members holding giant dice used to bring luck to the team at race weekends. This photos show that they have rolled two 'fours' (relatively good luck) over the radiator/sidepod area. The chief team 'roller' shown to the left is just verifying the throw was indeed valid and that the numbers are correct.

Jenson drives it like he owns it; Lewis drives it like he stole it

the rules this year also stated that the nose-mounred camera blanks must h have a clear field of view ie be mounted on the side of he nose but most teams have them on the inside of the pillars still - when was the last time we had a shot from a nose camera?

A cookie is awarded to Damn for solving the mystery ;)

That's a good point about the cameras too - when you compare it to the mid 90s, the on-board shots are much less varied these days.

yes its bizarre that they have to carry all them camera blanks, but its only the t-cam and cockpit side cam (and only ever on VET,HAM,ALO cars!) that ever get used, the cockpit facing, mirror cam and aforementioned nose-cams don't ever get used, but thats the stupid FOM for you!

I always assumed they never used the different camera angles because of sponsors unfortunately...
